POSTERS

Some people would say that posters aren’t really much use. I believe that they’re wrong because when I go past a good poster that screams out to me I stop to have a look and check it out to see what it is. Although they don’t carry much information on them because it’d be tedious for someone to read it for a long time – they’d get bored and walk away. I think that if we were to create a really good poster then it would catch eyes and people would be drawn to it. All we really need is a release date and the title in a funky way, fancy colors, the whole works! We could place them in parks, in different shop windows (with their permission of course) and shopping malls.

Most Rom-Com posters are quite straightforward. They have the main characters, the title and a funky slogan as well as a release date

TRAILERS

Trailers would be the main way to get our film out there into the open. Cinema’s, TV’s, Internet advertisements, the whole lot. I was thinking more along the lines of having our trailer being put up in the cinema when a similar sort of film is playing and around the same certificate rating (15). That way, our film, Soul Mate can be exploited to the specific target audience that we wanted it to be seen by. Lets face it. We’ve all been to the movies, watched the trailers and gone “ooooh that looks good, we have to go and watch it.” That’s the same sort of response we want to achieve. Combined with the trailer that gets put out on YouTube, I think we would achieve more exposure for our film and accessible to anyone who has access to internet which is quite a wide range of people.

SOCIAL NETWORKING

Ahhh my favorite form of getting things out there. Look to your left, look to your right. I guarantee both of those people most definitely have a form of social networking account whether it’s Facebook or Instagram. Nowadays social networking is the most popular way of posting videos and music ideas. Initially we had an idea to set up a Facebook page for our film but the work we done didn’t save so we decided to scrap it although I feel it would’ve mad our campaign that much better. We put our final finished copy of our opening sequence on to YouTube and we recently got some comments which really made us feel good because it was positive. I feel that putting our trailers and advertisements up all over these social networking sites then it would give our film the exposure that we need. I also thought that we could make Facebook or twitter accounts that acted as forums so people could post whatever they wanted to in relation to the film after watching the trailer or even after watching the film but it turns out we didn’t have enough time but always a good idea for the future.
