Different Teas, Different Brewing Methods; Here’s How to Easily Make
Them All
Black Tea
• The easiest to brew• Use boiling water• Steep 2-3 minutes
Take care with Darjeeling: water should be below boiling (80-90ºC or 180-194ºF)
Green
• Use a temperature of around 80°C (176°F)• Steep for 2 minutes
Use 50°C–60°C (122°F–140°F) at 90 seconds for gyokuro tea
Use boiling water at 2 minutes for houjichaMatcha is completely different
White Tea
• Use a water temperature of 75-80°C (167-176°F)
• Steep for 2-3 minutes
Oolong Tea
• Use a water temperature just slightly below the boiling point
• Steep for two minutes
