This spring I will be doing my best to spruce up what I already have, so the first

thing I plan to buy is paint. I have my eye on a dark teal colour for my hall, while my bathroom will be getting a lick of fresh white paint to really brighten things up. My bedsheets are all looking a little tired, so I’m going to treat myself to a duvet set (above). Finally, I’ve vowed to make a concerted effort actually to pick and arrange the flowers that grow in my garden: nothing says spring like a freshly cut bouquet.

Spring always makes me want to bring brighter colours into my home; a

citrus yellow throw to brighten up the sofa would be nice. I love cooking for friends, so I plan to smarten things up a bit with some crisp new table linen, and maybe some coloured glassware (below). I have also been hoarding some lovely vintage fabric for months, so I plan to get around to recovering some old cushions too.

That warm spring sunshine we’ve all been waiting for is always well received…

In my home, I like to keep things clean, organised and minimal. I will

As I have just moved house, I have a blank canvas. This spring I will

be adding lots of art to break up the white walls – a great way to add colour to the rooms as being a tenant I am unable to paint them – and I’ll also be looking for bright kitchen appliances from Bodum (above). Finally, I will be filling the house with scented candles. The Sandy Bay

vintage champagne candles smell fantastic, and are great for

providing soft mood lighting in the evenings.

bits I missed when ‘cleaning’, so I intend to do a deep spring clean of my little London flat before treating our sitting room walls to some funky framed prints. I get bored easily, so these statement cushions (right) will be coming in to refresh our sofa… and then if there are any pennies left I may treat my wardrobe to a couple of new purchases (shhh – don’t tell the boyfriend!)

towels (right) with a simple design for the bathroom. As the weather gets warmer I will be having my friends over for a few beers and a barbecue. My focus will be keeping things simple indoors and spending more time outside, enjoying the brighter evenings after work.
