BFI
The British Film Institution is a charity governed by a royal charter. They aim to nurture and invest in UK filmmakers, discover and develop new talent, support the production of a wide range of films and support UK distributors to ensure the best British films are seen by a wide range ofaudiences. The reason they fund films is to supportthe British cinema.
Film Studios
Film studios such as ‘Paramount Pictures’ fund blockbuster films as they feature hugely famous and established actors and directors. They fund films that they think will be successful and could potentially have a sequel in order to make the most money possible. This fits in with their motives as they wish to keep the audience entertained. They fund films that include the genres thriller, action, rom-coms and comedies. They also distribute films.
Banks
The banks can fund low budget films. The film organisation can ask for a loan and as it is small they can pay it back as well as get a profit.
Local Councils
The council can fund small films that are in the local area. They believe that by doing this, the town will become more popular and will get more money.
