Skinny Love Sweet Disposition

Skinny Love is about a man and a women in love but they have nothing in common, so in their case “love isn’t always enough”. It’s a narrative based song about desperation and lust for each other but the attraction to be together is simply love and lust. This is due to there life's being led in completely separate ways which would not coincide with each others. It portrays the man’s perspective trying to reach out to the girl and show her the love they share is enough to be together but he can’t seem to get it through to her even in his desperation so he’s giving up.

Sweet Disposition describes the story of life and living it in the moment, the way you usually do.

Disposition is a habit, a preparation, a state of readiness, or a tendency to act in a specified way.

We perceive it to relate to love as the lyrics “laugh, moment, kiss, a dream, cry” all are emotions that communicate from love.

TREATMENT to Skinny Love Starts off dark and gradually gets

lighter throughout the song to show the change in thought from negative to positive.

Narrative: boy in love with girls but they have nothing in common.

It is a box with videos of the woods rushing past and leaves on the floor of the box (see image).

Girl in the video in woods but he can’t get through to her because he is watching it through the screen. It gives the impression he is there.

Performance: filmed in studio with leaves on drums and falling from roof – looks the same as when Bon Iver is singing and women is in the background but the whole band is playing.

TREATMENT to Sweet Disposition Begins with a silhouetted face of lead vocalists and

shots of horse and fields. Narrative: female and male character in the woods

running through but missing each other. As the verse goes into the chorus and music build up – new lights are introduced giving a heighten feeling.

Lights hanging from trees on long string – creates an atmosphere whilst they are running through the woods.

Switches between narrative and performance. Performance: band playing in studio – dull lighting of

white and blue. Paint splashing on drums onto band who are wearing black – smoke.
