Trailer #1• The Helpers• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjG4ijJ75Eg

I think that the words are a good thing as it gives you more knowledge of what’s going on rather that just the recordings. The way the music stops is interesting as it gives you a feeling that something bad it going to happen and that its not the place for music. When the trouble has occurred the shutter of some sort of camera is effective as you can slightly see what is happening to this group of people. The way you can only see the effects quickly of what is happening to these people is intriguing as it makes you want to know how they got in that position and what is going to happen to them which is why I like this trailer.

I think that the music at the beginning is very effective as it interests you straight away and makes you think why it is relevant to the storyline. The words ‘torturing myself’ could be portraying that some sort of torture is going to happen.

Trailer #2• House at the End of the Street• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaUOgedqFQo

I like the music at the beginning (sounds like a key on a piano)as it creates some sort of suspense that something bad is going to happen. The flashbacks and reports are also effective as they give you a little insight to how something began which I think is always a

good thing as it is good to know how something started. Half way through then some music starts and the quick back and forth of the two people and then something else is creep but work well together for the type of genre it is for. I think that this makes the views more scared as it portrays that something is going to happen between these two people. When the words come with the background that looks like rotten wood is effective as it could portray something rotting such as a dead body and also loud music is played over this and suddenly stops when people are speaking, this to me makes me confused but intrigued in it as you get the emotion of the music and what the people are feeling.

Trailer #3• Mama• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2nwknMmvdc

The works that come up is one of the first things I noticed in the trailer as they are over a background that is interesting to me and I think is relevant towards the genre of it. I think that at the beginning of the trailer it is effective as it tells you the background

of these two children which to me is a good things as you get to clearly know what has happened to them and later know why is has. The thing that I like most about this trailer is the music which for me is the only thing that stands out. At the beginning the music is soft which you wouldn't find in a horror trailer but I think it works as it is going over the children past which could be sad and heart aching. When this music stops another one starts which is a little more faster and is more daunting as it makes me feel that this is the start of something bad. Then there is a sound of some sort of knocking which also sound to me like it is a ticking of a clock which could be showing that what ever is about to happen is going to be soon, so it could be the decaying of time. The music them cuts off near the end, the last sound being of a little girl saying ‘mamma’ and the words ‘a mother’s love is forever’, I think that this is very effective as it could be the whole meaning to what is happening/has happened and to me, words can mean a whole lot more than a picture.

Trailer #4• The Pact• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ztc5Nq1JL4

The thing that mostly interests me in this trailer is the words. This is because they are words that describe the film in a way of what you are going to feel when watching it. I think that this is a good thing to put in a trailer because it makes you aware of the feelings you are going to get when you watch it which intrigues me more. Also the style of writing is effective as they are bold letters but also have an old texture on them and the background works well with it as it is a dark colour but has a spotlight over it which makes the words have a stronger meaning, like they are the main priority. Usually writing within a trailer is too much but because these words describe emotions that you are going to feel, I think it works well and makes the rest of the trailer interesting.

Trailer #5• The Unleashed• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oh5x0pbJtg4

The music at the beginning is as it creates tension straight away and also gives you quick glimpses of what is going to happen. These glimpses don’t seem very scary but with the music is adds to the creepiness. When the music is about to stop it sounds like something is going down hill which it is played whilst you see

the sun going down which I think is very effective. When these people are using a spirit board, which I think is a good thing to put in a horror trailer/film as it creates my mystery and reason why these spirits are going to come upon them, hands that are not part of the group appears, this to me is a little creepy as you don’t actually see who their attached to. This isn't such a scary trailer because it shows that people are aware of these spirits/ghosts and it doesn’t seem like they are afraid of them that much. The only thing that it really creepy is the end part when the title of the film appears. This is because it has a flickering effect which I like and has some sort of voices whispering which adds to the effect of these people not knowing how many spirits their are.
