How did you use technologies to create your product?

Our task over summer was to create a stop motion with a topic of our choice. This was a challenge as there were so many ideas in which I wanted to create, so narrowing this down to one that I felt most effective was a difficult process.

YouTube was used within the planning stage to look at inspiration for my final ideas from previous Stop Motion creations. Links are shown within the next slide.

I rejected this idea, when coming towards my final decision of my final piece because I thought it would be quite challenging and not that interesting, as there is only a certain audience who would be interested in this.

SWEET WRAPPERS

This idea was originally to create the chocolate companies logo by using their own sweet wrappers, however this wasn’t as strong as my chosen idea and so therefore this also became a rejection.

SNAKE became my final design for my stop motion project. I chose this for many reasons such as:

Everyone within a large age range, is familiar with this game, as it was promoted when Nokia mobile phones first had the application of games.

It would be the most effective out of all my three main ideas.

There is lots of varieties of materials I could use to make this stand out.

I understood the game itself, and so I would be able to follow the conventions carefully.

Once decided on my final idea, I brainstormed what kind of materials I could use that would be suitable for this game...

Ribbon was my final choice for materials to create my ‘snake’. This was easy to do as I could cut more ribbon to make my snake longer as it ate more ‘food’.

This, at times, proved to be quite a challenge, because the Ribbon is not a thick material, the Blue tack being used as ‘glue’ to stick it to the wall I was using, sometimes wasn’t strong enough.

By using a digital camera, following previous convention for stop motion, which we have done in class (10 shots = 1 second of film) I was able to create the stop motion effect.

Once my ‘Snake’ Stop motion was complete and saved as a slide show, we had to upload it too a website known as

When logged on, we needed to click on the ‘upload’ button to submit our slideshow. Then choose the ‘upload publicly’ option.

Then I selected my Stop Motion and clicked ‘open’ and slide share then produced a HTML code, allowing me to upload my work onto my blog.
