In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

• My film incorporates certain conventions of the horror genre as the fear in my film is based on the thought of being alone and how to survive. The thought that you have to be alone during a terrific disaster is the fear that I tried to play on.

I have tried to use the Idea of being alone in a similar way to the way that Francis Lawrence I am legend does. Because this is the type of fear I was using to give the right effect. The long shot shows how big the world is and how small it makes the main character.

In the road there is the fear other people and that you can’t trust anybody this is one of the main aspects of the story. The fact that there is few people in the cast has this effect that there is less people about and that you are alone. Yet again there are long shots to give the feeling of insignificance

• There are Points in movies that means survival has to make use of everything you have, this makes the suspense build up to the way they survive or die. The characters in the crazies start off as being just normal people turned ‘crazy’ this made the idea that you can’t tell from just looking at the infected that they are crazy. Most horror movies play on the fear of the unknown which is what I wanted to do for my movie.

The close up of the two characters is to show both sides of the characters. The Character that takes up most of the screen during the fight is normally the one with more power.

As you can see here both characters have opposing sides. The fight is decided by the character invading the others space. This technique is used in many action scenes because of the effect it has without people noticing.

• This film is meant to be a thriller/horror but there are sub-genres to it as well, these are action and adventure elements such as the fighting and chase sequences.

The camera angle here has both the survivor and monster is in the shot, which yet again shows the action between them. The fight sequences are the main thing that shows the sub-genre of action. The fact that the scenes are very dynamic to the sudden calmness after one of the characters wins.
