PLANNING AND RESEARCH

CONSTRUCTION

I have used Adobe Premiere pro CS3 to edit my film on a PC. This is a print screen of my editing in action. I have found the software relatively easy to use and edit my film successfully although it has been slow to start up initially and has sometimes displayed my work as being ‘offline’ causing only minor disruption to my film.

To organise what characters were going to do and say I used Script buddy in order to create a professional looking script for my film. This meant that I could use the website to edit and make any additional changes as I continued with my coursework and changed ideas which could then be added to my blog.

I used Wordpress.com for my blog as I had previously used this blog for AS and found that I was very easy to use and organise my work into categories. I found using a blog to host my media coursework useful as I could use any computer and even my phone to update my coursework easily.

I found that Slideshare was very useful to use to show information about my coursework on my blog as it had a customised code for my blog website meaning that I was able to upload my work directly from slideshare to my blog.

For my reccee shots I used my ipod touch camera which provided me with images that I could use in proving that the sites I was going to use would be sufficient for my film.

EVALUATION

Here is the equipment that I have used to shoot the film. I used the tripod frequently as the shots I needed had to be still so that the audience weren’t distra=cted from what they were intended to watch. I was able to shoot my film easily with little difficulty other than not getting the shot right and occasionally end up with continuoity errors which needed re-shooting to get the result I needed.

Most of the lighting that I used for most of the scenes were natural and artificial lighting in the form of ceiling lights which was all I needed. However there were times I needed a ‘spotlight’ for the character. This meant that in the bedroom scenes I used a light similar to this to light up the character more in the dark room. I found this useful as I could place the flexible light almost anywhere I wanted because it could clip onto any surface as well as the bright LED light which worked perfectly as a spotlight for the shot.

I used this camera’s video function in order to record my voice and create the director’s cut and to explain why the ancillary tasks and main task are combined effectively. This was the easiest way to do it as it was simple to upload onto my computer via an SD card slot.

As I didn’t have access to the school software over the holidays I used windows movie maker to edit my directors commentary and show the effectiveness of the combination of ancillary and main tasks together. This wasn’t an issue as there was little editing that was needed to do.

I had to use Youtube in order to upload my videos and film, this is because it was the easiest option to use a link from my blog which makes it easy to view the film by clicking the link. To uplaod videos I had to create an account which I used throughout this coursework.
