Survey monkey

I learnt that you can put your surveys online on the website and anyone can look at it and do it which means it will help with your film. Advantages are that it is very easy to use which means that it is very clear and you can put your surveys on there very quickly. Another advantage is that loads of people can do the survey which means it more helpful when developing your opening sequence. Disadvantages are that not many people do the survey because it isn’t the most important survey so it won’t help you do your opening sequence as no one did the survey. Another disadvantage is that some of the design of the survey is quite confusing as sometimes you don’t know what you are going to do.

Reason

I learnt that you can make different types of music and different sort of genres which will help us with our opening sequence and we use it for a opening sequence song. Advantages are that you can make different types of music from rock to classical which is far apart and have many different types of instruments which means you can make anything you want. Another advantage is that you got more variety of music than some other music makes like garage band. Disadvantages are that it is very hard to use because there are loads of controls and some of them I don’t even know what they mean. Another disadvantage is that it is very confusing as there are quite a lot of stuff when you don’t really need it on there.

Sound cloud

I learnt is that you can make the music and then you can just post it online for everyone to listen to. Advantages are that with Sound Cloud you have the option of either uploading a recorded audio, or recording it on the spot. It’s fast, and not time consuming at all. Another advantage is that if you own an iphone, Ipad or Android, you can record anything you want while on the move, and post it instantly online. Disadvantages are that if you record on the spot, you cannot edit them at all. There are no editing tools, and no added effects, unless you’ve edited your work somewhere else and then upload it on Sound Cloud. Disadvantages are that if you want the full package it will cost a lot of money and it isn’t really worth that amount of money.

Wix

I learnt that you can create the website on the page with any design you want and edit any pages you want with links. Advantages are that there are more than 200 templates available and this can help get rid of any confusion you may have over what you want your website to look like. Another advantage is that it doesn’t cost a lot to use it eventhough you can try it out for free eventhough there are limitations. Disadvantages are that there isn’t that much navigation which means you can sometimes get lost on the website. Another disadvantage is that the blog doesn't work which means you can ‘t use it as it need a certain function.

Garage band

I learnt that you can make loads of music like Reason and learning the different instruments and what they sound like. Advantages are that you can export it very easily for example you can do it from AVI to WMV which is very helpful because it would be easier to upload to our website. Another advantage is that you can open it on any sort of computer as long it got garage band which is helpful as you maybe able to do it at school and at home. Disadvantages are that Reason got more controls over music than garage band which means there are more sort of music on Reason than on Garage band. Disadvantages are that the files are massive so you may not be able to save them as you won’t have enough space to save it.

Timeglider

I learnt that on timeglider you can make timelines of any size and any description you want which was helpful. Advantages are that you can make the timeline as long as possible and at any size so you can put loads of stuff on it which will help your research. Another advantage is that it is automatic saving which means it saves by itself which is helpful, because you don’t have to remember if you saves it or not. Disadvantages are that it is quite confusing because you don’t know what it will look like as you can’t really see the date which is not helpful. Another disadvantages is that you can’t zoom in on the timeline which means you may not find the date where you meant to put it on.

Youtube

I learnt that you can analyse stuff on Youtube which I didn’t know about which help me for one of my evaluation. Advantages are that it got easy rating features and feedback systems, this is good because you can put your rough cut video on there and people can say what good and bad about it so you can improve it. Advantages are that it got fast and easy video sharing. This is good because when you upload it, it will be on there for people to see already. Disadvantages are that there are no parental controls which mean a young boy could be watching something which is not suitable and it could have effect later on. Disadvantages are that the video length is only ten minutes which mean you can’t just upload the whole movie which is annoying.

Odeon

I didn’t really learn anything from this as I already use this before. Advantages are that it shows you the latest films which are coming out so people could be interested to watch them. Advantages are that it got quick search on there for different types of genres which mean if you want to se a certain genre and click on it then it will take you to those films which are released by these genre. Disadvantages are that it only got films which been release this week so you don’t get any information from any past films. Disadvantages are that there aren’t any more as it is a very useful website and can easily book to see a certain website and got loads of information.

PowerPoint

I didn’t learn anything from it as I use all the functions before and know my way around the powerpoint. Advantages are that it is easy to create colourful, attractive designs using the standard templates and themes to make it professional. Advantages are that it easy to present and maintain eye contact with a large audience by simply advancing the slides with a keystroke which is it move to the next slide by itself. Disadvantages are that you got limitations of words as you may not fix everything you want to say on one slide. Disadvantages are that when you use a different background colour and some of the text you may not read as you got the wrong colour so it is hard for people to see.

Final cut pro

I learnt how to use the technology to edit the films to make it perfect. Advantages are that it got loads of editing features so you can edit to make it a lot better to get the right picture and make it the best sequence. Advantages are that you can add loads of clips which is helpful because in making a opening sequence you will have loads of clips which will need to be put on final cut pro. Disadvantages are that it got loads of editing features which mean you might be confused which one will be better to use. Disadvantages are that it is time consuming as they expect you to edit for hours which people aren’t going to do.

Glogster

I learnt that you can use this to help put work on there which could easily been used to give homework. Advantages are that it is easy to use as it hasn’t got many buttons and they are very so you should know what you are doing. Advantages are that it can be adapted by any subject which is helpful because you can change the background specific to the subject you are doing. Disadvantages are that it requires the internet connection to use it which is annoying as sometimes it might not be working. Disadvantages is that sometimes when you upload it some teachers might not find it so they will say you haven’t done the homework eventhough you have.

Slideshare

I didn’t learn anything from it because I just upload my stuff on there and that it. Advantages are it provides quick and easy feedback in the form of view counts as you will be able to see how many people have seen your work which will make you think of doing another one. Advantage is that you can share the powerpoint presentation to other people on social networking sites so more people view the presentation. Disadvantages are that sometimes some misuse can be done to your presentation as people have been using it for other reasons and want to change it. Disadvantages is that there aren’t any as it is very easy to use.

I learnt how to use the different mind maps features which make the mind map bigger and better. Advantages are that it is free to use so you can use it whenever you want to and save money as well. Advantages are that it is appropriate for school use because you can create mind maps which will help your revision when you have exams. Disadvantages are that you need to sign up because if you don’t then it won’t save what you done already. Disadvantages are that the icons are very small which is not helpful because

Final cut express

I learnt the same sort of thing as final cut pro as they are very similar to one another. Advantages are that you will be able to use loads of different transitions to make your opening sequence to make it better. Another advantage is that you add loads of clips on there so you can put it all together to make one good movie as there are loads of editing techniques on there. Disadvantages are that the flash video is very unstable and sometimes it doesn’t work which is not good when you want to view something. Disadvantages are that there have been no upgrades on this programme until 2008 which means there are still problems going on.

IMDB

I didn’t learn anything from the IMDB website as I knew what it is all about. Advantages are that it shows all the films from the last decade and before which is very helpful as you can do loads of research on this as you will be able to find the certain film you are looking for. Another advantage is that it got key information for each films which are the cast and the synopsis which is good as I could do some research into different synopsis and different characters. I couldn’t find any disadvantages in the website as it got all the important information you need and also got all the films you might want to look at.

Prezi

I didn’t learn anything new from prezi as I used it before and it isn’t hard to use it. Advantages are that it is completely free compared to other stuff you can present your work by so you get something good out of this. Advantages are by staying current with new technology, more often than not people might appreciate the change of pace from the tools they are seeing used in other people work. Disadvantages are that if you have limited wireless internet access, or if your internet connection at your building is unreliable, a web-based tool may become more of a hassle than its is. Disadvantages is that I can’t find anymore as it is a very good service and easy to use.

Text edit

I haven’t heard about this but when I use it, it was very easy as it like Microsoft word. Advantages of text edit is that it is very easy to use as you just need to write whatever you want in which will help you with your work and all the buttons are very clear. Another advantage is that you can check your spelling on there to make sure it is correct before you upload your work as you want the best grade possible. Disadvantages is that it only works for the Mac so you won’t be able to get it on a normal computer. I can’t find any more disadvantages with this as it is very simple to use.

Blogger

I learnt that you can upload your blogs onto the website so people can see what you done to help with your opening sequence. Advantages are that it is easy and free to use which is good as you can post whatever you want onto the blog which will help with the work. Advantages are that posting the content is quick and easy to do which is good as it doesn't take a lot of your time doing that. Disadvantages are that Google owns the site as it exercises control on what advertisements you are allowed to post on your blog site so you don’t get complete control. Disadvantages are that there are limited templates to use which means the templates on there you may not like and don't want to use then you are screwed.

Photoshop

I learnt that you can take different pictures and cut them so you get a certain picture that you need which will help with your research. Advantages are that you can alter photographs to make them something else and get rid of bits that you don’t need. Advantages are that it is very time consuming as you need to just edit the pictures and that it. Disadvantages are that if you use the technology first time then you might get confused by what to do. Disadvantages is that it cost a lot and take loads of space on your computer which mean that you may not be able to use it as you don’t have enough room on the computer.

Rotten tomatoes

I didn’t really learn anything about it eventhough I haven’t used it before as it similar to other film websites. Advantages is that they show the box office on the website so you can see how well each films are doing in the cinemas. Another advantage is that it got some information about what the is all about which is helpful for people if they want go and see it or not. Disadvantages are that there are more information on the IMDB website than on this website and also being used by more people. Disadvantages are that I can’t find any more as it is a very useful website which help me with my research.

Dipity

I learnt how to create the timeline which will help with our opening sequence. Advantages of dipity is that you can add pictures on there which make the timeline more interesting and help with the information which is on the timeline. Advantages is that when you click on the information you can write a description about it which helps instead of having a long list of what you wrote. Disadvantages is that when you put too much on the timeline it can make the timeline very confusing for people to look at. Disadvantages are that there is only one background which means you can’t change it eventhough it looks very boring.
