Evaluation 2:How effective is the combination of your main

and ancillary products?

Continuity

Throughout all of our products, there is a consistent and full house theme that runs through the products ensuring that the trailer can easily be associated and linked to the poster and film magazine. As you can see, the fonts on the poster and in the trailer are both the same. This is very effective as the viewing audience will be able to link the two articles together just by seeing that font and colour. I have also put one of the main characters on the film poster which the audience will be able to recognize after they will have seen the trailer either advertised on television or in the cinemas etc. This will make it easier for the audience to associate the poster with the trailer.

ActorsIn my poster, I have used the same actor that is featured in the trailer and in the magazine cover which we all worked on. This helps the audience relate the poster and magazine cover to the trailer, making it more recognizable. I also gave the actor the same costume for the photo shoot of the the costume that he mainly wore throughout the trailer. This again also helps the audience link the different products together.

What this influences. What this does is put the different products together into one campaign. This helps the audience relate them all together and with the constant same running theme catching their eye, they are more likely to learn about the film and want to see it. In particular the target audience, they will keep getting reminded about the film via the use of the same fonts and colors, as well as the actors on the posters and magazines.

Ultimately, the combination of my ancillary products and my main product is very effective. They all work together ensuring that they are easily recognized as the same campaign which then makes it more attractive to the target audience.

Other possible ways to promote film campaign

I would need more than just posters and a film trailer to ensure that my products were noticed by my target audience and brought in a large amount of people wanting to see it. I want people to see a lot of advertisement for this film if it were real, therefore I would produce advertisements which would go on the sides of buses etc. This would dramatically increase how much the public are exposed to my film and advertising, thus reaching a much bigger and wider audience. Another common way I would advertise is via the cinema. The trailer would be played before the film and with the audience being unable to avoid it, they would see the entire thing. There is no denying that we see advertisements, we try our best to avoid and skip them however if they are exposed to this, they have no way to stop it and get to see the whole thing where they will then (providing its my target audience watching) get to like it instead of skipping it and potentially finding something they like. I would have the trailer played before films which are of a similar genre type and have the same or a similar target audience. This would guarantee people watching the movie they have gone to see would also like to go and see ours judging from the trailer.

Examples

These are two examples I made of the kind of things that I would use to further promote Our film. As with the posters, the same fonts and colors have been used, as well as the sameActor has been posted on the billboard.

Unique Selling Point

Not only do we have all these elements of the product which are helping our campaign boost,But we also have a very good selling point. Our film not only portrays and has a dominant comedy genre, it also had a sub-genre of social Realism, thus making it have a hybrid genre type. The social realism is portrayed by the Stereotypical nerds being at the bottom of the social ladder and working their way up withThe help of someone who is further up the social ladder. It suggests that society will take You up the social ladder depending on what you wear, what you look like and how ‘cool’ youAre. This is a reality in which we all live in and have to deal with and this film features many ofThe things that people will go through and suffer with to get a boost up the social ladder.
