DESCRIPTION
And now for some classroom statistics fun. This was created on the fly during a lecture advising students how to choose a camera. I led in with a survey of their attitudes about cameras and photography. The charts show the responses of approximately 32 Chinese ESL students to questions about the subject. Given the small number of respondents this is not a scientific survey, but it still gives us some quick and dirty data on the habits of middle- and upper-class Chinese.Points of note: the dominance of P&S and mobile phone cameras, the preference for Renren uploads over Sina Weibo (as the former is more private), the popularity travel/event-oriented photo taking (less taking photos for fun), and the reasons why most people don't buy a DSLR.
