Task, Condition, and Standards TASK: To perform a search of an EPW, recognize the 5 S’s, and whatis meant by them.

CONDITION: Given a block of instructions, a demostration, and reference material from FM 7-8.

STANDARD: To correctly perform a search of a EPW, and answerCheck on Learning questions correctly, and be able to discuss the 5 S’s and distinguish between each.

• Start from Head to Foot• Inspect any area susceptible to hiding important information:

- Head, Kevlar, Collar- Underarms- Waist Line, Crotch- Inner leg, Ankles

* Inspect equipment if time permits.

Useful Techniques:- Blindfold- Zip Tie Hands- Cover Mouth with Handkerchief- Zip Tie Feet

Safeguard

- All personnel are entitled to safety when in the care of any military unit.- Personnel who are in your custody are also entitled to having certain items safeguard by youor allowed to keep on themselves.
