Dear enCORE C.A.S. readers, Creativity is only as powerful as you allow it. As a child I remember living in an imaginary world with ease; “fly- ing” when I was really just running with my arms stretched wide or “lava monster” where all surfaces of the floor were molten lava, and I would jump from furniture piece to furniture piece to escape get- ting burned. I realize that as we grow we have to be a bit more “grounded”. But, in that “child-like” play, CREATIVITY IS BORN! In this issue we will feature local artist Jessica Salazar McBride, whose vivid sculptures inspire and tantalize the senses, reflecting herself and our local culture. We get to know a local cartoonist, Ramon Ramirez whose “toons” have helped spread humor and a positive message about the Valley.
