Ed the Broken-Hearted

Gorilla Ghost

there once lived a gorilla named

Ed.

Ed lived in a big zoo and he

DID NOT like it.

he would get so mad at the

people walking by his cage that

he would beat his chest and

throw bananas at them.

people got so used to Ed’s

grumpy ways that he became a

disgruntled star of the zoo. and

the zoo sold t-shirts with his

face on them

Ed DID NOT like this even more

than he disliked the zoo.

he threw more bananas.

the zoo-keepers thought Ed

might need a friend to cheer him

up. so they brought in another

gorilla to see if they could get

along

the gorilla they brought in was

named Susie and Ed

DID NOT

throw a banana at her

Susie liked Ed too and soon

they became good friends

time went by...and no bananas

were thrown, chests beaten, or

t-shirts sold.

the zoo decided to send Susie

to another zoo.

Ed DID NOT like this at all.

however, he DID NOT beat his

chest or

throw bananas

he just died of a

broken-heart.

time went by...

the zoo did not get another

gorilla

people forgot about the angry

gorilla who used to beat his

chest and throw bananas

until one day a man lingered a

little too long by Ed’s old cage

and got hit in the

face with a banana

and some days when it’s real

quiet you can hear the sound of

a broken-hearted gorilla beating

his chest

the zoo started selling t-shirts

about Ed the gorilla ghost which

caused more people to come,

and more people got hit with

bananas

but Ed just missed Susie.

however, he DID like the sound

of a face being smacked with a

banana.
