Its overall sound has been described as "tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals”. Dubstep was influenced by UK garage and incorporate elements of drum and bass into the South London-based 2-step garage sound. it relies on a consistent sub base for the tempo rather that a beat. Dubstep is in half time so it gives that hip hop effect, Dubstep is generally instrumental. Similar to a vocal garage hybrid - grime - the genre's feel is commonly dark; tracks frequently use a minor key. A common characteristic that most Dubstep songs consist of is a wobble base, were an extended base note is manipulated rhythmically also a bass drop Dubstep has a 2step rhythm and puts more emphasis on 'dark' baselines and popular bass drops.
