Wizkid was born in Surulere, which is a commercial and residential area in

Lagos, on 16 July 1990. He is youngest of the 6 children in his family, it can

be said that he was from a big family. His father had three wives.

He started his music career at the age of eleven and released an album “Lil

Prinz” which contained seven tracks. During his struggle he formed a group

composed of hos church friends the group was named Glorious Five. They

also launched their own album before dismembering and started pursuing

different careers. After that he met OJB Jezreel who was a record producer.

OJB prevented Wizkid from recording any song for about a year. As he used

to visit Jezreel studio frequently thus he watched Sound Sultan and 2 Face

Idibia record their albums Jagbajantis and Grass 2 Grace respectively. A

year later after meeting Jezreel he started recording his first song which

also featured OJB Jezreel. His very first song received great response in

Surulere.

The struggle time when he decided to choose music as his career option he

faced a lot of disagreement from his family and has to face a lot of problem.

As his family was not on his side thus he has to spend a lot of time in the

studio in order to prove that he was able to pursue music as his career and
