This week we learnt about Diwali, the Festival of Light.
We made firework pictures with glue and glitter. We made diva lamps too.
Our book of the week was “Rama and the Demon King”. It taught us the story of
Diwali.
We enjoyed acting it out with masks. Xiomar pretended to be the Demon King.
Fay pretended to be Prince Rama.
Ridha pretended to be Princess Sita.
Rafiha pretended to be the Golden Fawn.
And Esmee pretended to be Hanuman the monkey.
The we sat down in the hall for our Diwali celebration.
As Diwali is the Festival of Light, we had some coloured lights and candles to decorate the hall.
Mrs Fraser talked to us about Diwali and then we sang our Diwali song.
We also sang a lovely song about fireworks and did some actions.
Then we all had a dance to some special Diwali music!
Rafiha, Elina and Evie did some beautiful dancing!
Mahmoud and Wesam danced together.
Asmaa made different shapes with her hands.
So did Shahed and Malakyah.
Then we all sat down to watch the lights being lit.
Miss Keeley and Mrs Fraser lit some candles.
They lit some of the clay divas that we had made too.
Then we all had a photo taken with our group. Here are the Rabbits with Mrs Fraser.
The Squirrels with Miss Taylor.
The Mice with Miss Opdam.
The Butterflies with Mrs Tomlinson.
The Frogs with Miss Clarke.
The Hedgehogs with Miss Ledwick.
And the Foxes with Miss Keeley.
