Sunil Mahajan conducted surveys across 60 companies, mostly into ITeS sector. He realized the need for paper management through these surveys. “Seeing the positive response from the employees, we started kleeto in May 2010,” adds Sunil. Over the past one year, kleeto has come up with a bunch of services for consumers, corporate, and SMBs. They provide end-to-end service in collecting paper directly from their customers, storing and finally digitizing them. Most importantly, the clients can simply search for relevant documents via this solution. “In our daily lives, we manage so much information, either in paper or digital form. We not only struggle to retrieve such documents, but we also lose money or opportunities when we don’t find them,” he says. Sunil Mahajan in partnership with Sanjay Dhawan and Naresh Chand launched kleeto. Followed by their launch, they started their services in December 2010. A combined industry experience of 60+ years, coupled with technical, business and managerial know- how, has paved its way of success. Earlier, Sunil worked with Comviva as VP and Head of new product initiatives, which in a way helped him to form the business idea of kleeto. Service specialties kleeto has given the age-old concept of record management a different meaning. Where record management business offers only storage facility, kleeto taps into the SMB segment. “Given the volume of information consumer receives these days and volume of information SMB generates – they surely need help. SMB. “Through these offerings, kleeto intends to relieve corporate HR from the headache of storing and managing company documents, employee records. At the same time, relieve SMBs from the pain of storing and managing all kind of documents in paper and digital form,” assures the owner.

Challenges A concept as niche as providing personal data to a third party was challenging enough for kleeto. Gaining trust from the customers was the most difficult part. “We started reaching people on one-on-one basis to spread the awareness about possibility of record management. It was important to make people realize the ease of managing information through kleeto,” he says.

Though not associated with financial institutions for regular assistance, kleeto’s seed fund was acquired through angel investors and investment from promoters.

People and promotion Among 30 specialists on board, some are on the company payroll, whereas others are outsourced from service partners. In the words of Sunil, with four existing departments, viz. sales and marketing, operations, technology, and support, kleeto is on a constant look out for people with passion to create something new and relevant domain experience.

“At this stage, we are reaching SMBs through direct marketing channel. But will soon look for channel partners who serve SMBs with other services and will offer kleeto bundled with it,” confirms Sunil.

Road ahead… kleeto is looking forward to future tie-ups with pharma labs, schools/colleges, retail chains, manufacturing units, etc. “We would like to choose partners where our service can help partners and end customers. Besides, we would like to reduce paper consumption and move towards digitization of every possible paper that consumer receives. We also see kleeto growing as one of the top three brands associated with simplification of consumer’s life,” he signs off.
