How did you use media technologies in the research, planning, construction and evaluation

stages?

Research

The most vital part of my research was the internet. Everything that I needed to find out or use was at the click of a button. I was able to find out about my target audience, and also find out what kind of music and videos attracted their attention. The main online programs that I used on the internet were the search engine Google, which was a great help for finding websites to check the charts to see the popularity of our genre and also to get pictures of other artists to see how we should model our artists.

Research

Another important part of my research was the online program YouTube. This allowed me to view the music videos I needed to decide what features needed to be in my music video, and also to find out more about how popular the genre we were working on is. We looked around for pop punk videos and also indie rock videos. The artists that we looked at were Blink 182 , Red Hot Chili Peppers and The White Stripes

Research - Blogger

We used blogger to log everything that we had done during all the stages of the work, it was like a diary of research for us to put all our ideas into, so we knew what we were doing when we went into making the music video we had everything we needed.

Production

We used a Nikon Hd camera to film the music video footage in the studio.

For our still images in the ancillary task we used a Nikon D3000 to get good quality pictures

Editing Our footage

When editing our footage we used a programme called Final Cut Express. This was used to edit everything to do with the music video, all the colour corrections and the order of the scenes was done on here.

Editing still images

To edit our images we used two different programmes to get the image exactly how we wanted them. The programmes are InDesign and Photoshop. In photoshop we edited the colour on the images and anything else to do with the picture. Then we used InDesign to add a background and any writing to the image.

The computers

All of this work was done on the Apple Mac computers that they have in college, they had all the programmes and made it much easier to get the work done to a better standard.
