Performances Performing music is a great way to build confidence in your

own abilities as a musician and to develop as an ensemble. It is also a way that we can praise God together. There will be about 8 performances in Calgary area

churches this year. There will also be 3 home concerts this year: Christmas,

Pizza & Pops, Spring Performing in Concerts is mandatory for all Music students. Check course outline for repertoire information.

Uniforms Two Uniforms:Informal: CWAA Concert Choir T-shirt(used for tours and Pizza ‘n’ Pops concert)Formal: Guys – black socks, black dress shoes, black dress pants, black vest, white dress shirt and silver tie. All of these items should fit well and be in excellent condition. Please check throughout the year for fit, especially for the top button being able to close on the dress shirt. Girls – black panty hose, black formal gown, black or hair-coloured hair accessories, black dress shoes (flats are best but heels which are plain and no higher than 2 inches are also acceptable). The cost of the t-shirt is approx. $20 and only new students will

need a new shirt this year. The cost of the formal uniform is approx. $80 Some used formal uniforms may be available for $40 first come,

first served All uniform orders and payments will be done through the office

at CWAA.

Tours I have taken students on six tours so far in my three years at CWAA.

Edmonton, Seattle, Vancouver Island and three times to the ACSI Spring Musicale in Three Hills.

I propose that the CWAA Music tour this year be to Los Angeles May 21-25 as this is not a mission trip year.

To Reduce costs we will not be going to Three Hills in May The cost of the tour is approx. $800 which will be lessened

by fundraisers such as selling cookie dough, apples, fall and spring fest, pizza & pops, offerings, letter/e-mail donation drives, pop bottle drives, highway cleaning and by selling gift cards.

I am planning to create a fundraising committee of parents to help me this year.

Tours We will be flying from Calgary to Los Angeles and

the flight will cost around $500 round trip. A deposit of $100 will need to be given to the

travel agency at the end of October. The remainder of the funds will be due in March. The $800 tour cost will include food,

accommodations, transportation and entertainment. Ex, Magic Mountain $30 group rate.

The LA trip is pending school board approval on Oct. 21.
