Welcome to the 3rd part of „The Diary of Denisa: Female MIlitary Elite“ series!

I firmly believe that the end of previous part was a nice surprise for you, and you are enjoy-ing it! You see, it was my long author´s dream, to make some interesting sci-fi work! And to-day, I can fulfill this dream!

Believe me, that this part will be also very, very surprising… I really liked making it!

Now, where were we? The Corporation made a serious announcement to the world, but theevent continues, and a live broadcast is established…

On the TV, two persons emerged. The President and Minister of Defense.

„Hallo, Mister President. Hallo, mister Minister,“ Karolina greeted them. „Welcome to ourlive broadcast!“

„Pleasure is ours, Mrs. Rubesova,“ the President replied with dignity.

„Could you please brief us about the current situation in the higher places?“

„We officially announce, that we took control of the Facility, where the device is stored, to-day, at exactly this moment. So the device is now under direct Military supervision and nomisusing is possible.

United Nations were informed of the current development, and we are expecting their envoyto arrive as soon as possible, to provide international supervision of the Facility.“

„How is the Facility secured? Can we be sure, that no accident will happen?“ Karolina wasinterested.

„You can be absolutely sure,“ the Minister replied decisively. „The Device is well protected,not only physically, by our Military forces, but also the information network of the facility iscompletely disconnected from the Internet, and it was never connected. There are no socketson the computers, so nobody can attach any USB flash disks, removable drives, or any othermeans of compromising the security of the data.

There is no single person, who could build another device, and there is no single and comple-te blueprint. There is also a multi-stage secure logging procedure into the system, and to startthe device, the physical presence of eight highly ranked public personalities is necessary. Thefirst is the President, number one. I am number two. The composition of the rest of the groupis classified.“

„That sounds good! And how do you plan to use the device?“

„Firstly, there will be an international committee established, where every world country willhave their deputy. This committee will discuss further use of the device, only to be beneficialto the mankind. It is our invention, but the world has the right to control and influence thefuture, which was brought to us with this innovation.

Secondly, there is one single rule to use the device: under absolutely no circumstances it willbe misused for manipulating the past. What happened, it happened, and we have no right toalter it. We will hear no requests or pleas, no matter how many lives could be saved. ThisDevice and the Facility is out of our national jurisdiction, and the property, where it is built,has special legal regime.

The only operations allowed with the device are Intelligence missions, to gather informationfrom the past, so for example unpunished crimes can be prosecuted and concluded. If thesemissions will take place on our territory, there will be no need of approval of UN needed. Butanything else must be only an internationally approved operation.“

„Can you tell us, how the device work?“

„The exact details are classified, but I can tell you one thing. To navigate the device into theproper time windows, we use the radio transmissions from the past. It means, that present uti-lizability of the Device is limited to the year of circa 1940, and we can´t visit the future. Onlythe times when certain radio emissions were sent, and we have them saved and available.“

„And is it safe, to travel through time? Can the past be influenced, let´s say involuntarily?“

„It is perfectly safe and it is not possible, deliberately or accidentally, to alter the past. But ascientist will explain this to you better.“



„We just heard a lot of important information,“ Karolina turned to the crowd. „But the mostkey news are coming right here! As the mister Minister said, we need no approval of usingthe device for any Intelligence mission in our national territory. And there is one such missionprepared right now, to show the world, that this invention is the reality!

In other words, today, we will send the first exploring team of time-travellers, and they willbring us the direct, live transmission of their adventure!

It is amazing, isn´t it? We will see their unique action, lively!“

The crows was keen. „Let´s do it!“

„OK, so Mr. President, as the highest commander of our Military, I ask you publicly: do youapprove this operation?“

„Yes, I do! The operation has the green light.“

„Great! So, please connect us with the Facility, where the mission is prepared! And maybe wewill be able to talk to somebody important there!“

On the TV, a scientist in a white coat appeared. „Hello, team! Hello, world!“ he shouted.

„Greetings, Mr. Scientist! We are eager to know more about the Facility, and the Device. Sowhat unclassified information do you have for us?“

„The Facility is completely power-sufficient, so the public will not suffer with any electricityshortages, when we will start the Device,“ the scientist joked. „And it is much simplermachine, that you would expect!“

„Was the time travelling tested yet?“

„In limited ways, yes, to make sure it is completely safe. Our system doesn´t send a person orthing to the past directly, but sends a modified copy of it. So no physical harm is possible.Our sensors only accept physical data and transmit them. So you can consider the time travelas visiting a virtual reality gaming hall. Perfectly safe for the person and for the past.

This copy can be deactivated simply by switching off the Device. The projected person or athing simply disappears, and the natural order is restored. Nothing remains in the past.“

„OK, but how can our operatives to search for Intelligence clues? For example, if they willneed to open a book?“

„They have special scanners equipped, able to read through books for example, without anyneed of manipulating them. But maybe in some future version of the Device we will figureout, how to remove this limitation. However, any new version will be under supervision of



the world. The present device brings no legal problems at all, so we are glad,“ the scientistsmiled.

„You are absolutely right! Sooner or later, the lawyers will come and the poor Device willhave difficult life! But today, they are still home, passively watching, as the rest of us. So canyou connect us with the recon team, prepared to be sent to the past and transmit us that ulti-mate travelling experience?“

„Here you go! But please, be nice to her! She is our Asset! The future of the Science is in herhands!“ the scientist said goodbye.

And there was Denisa! But you wouldn´t recognize her. She had another hair color and haircut, special makeup and several wires connected to her temples.

„Hallo, time traveller! Can you introduce, please?“

„Greeting to all of you! But please, call me just Operative. This is a secret mission, youknow!“ Denisa smiled.

„Of course! My apologies! But you can tell us, what are the mission tasks, can´t you? So wecan know, what will be happening on the screen, and where you are heading.“

„Well, here is the situation. After finding the famous Stechovice treasure, we discoveredsome key documents, that can be used to solve some mysteries of the past, particularly fromthe year of 1945, when the war was ending and there was many unlucky incidents.

Our mission today has two phases: first, we will personally visit a place, where one such inci-dent happened, on 8th of May 1945. We will gather all possible Intelligence there, and then,our team will split: two of us will proceed further, and follow this individual, to find an iden-tity of this person, or culprit, to be exact. Rest of the team will move yet back in time, to findkey documents about the identity of this particular person, so we will have firm proofs tocharge this individual, if he is alive.

In any case, we will find the name, and let´s hope, that one crime from that sad distant timeswill be resolved, and many souls will be finally able to rest in peace. They were waiting fortheir justice for 70 years.“

„That sounds courageous! How do you feel?“

„I am well prepared. We trained for this, and we are fully covered, protected and motivated.The higher places will supervise, and the world too, so you will be able to see, that our stepsin the past will be only passive and lawful. We won´t influence that past in any way. Don´task us to go and save your relatives or tell them that you love them. It is the basic rule, and itcan´t be ever breached.“



„We are glad to hear how carefully is everything mastered. Well, good luck to you, Opera-tive!“

„Thanks! Wish us luck. We are starting in fifteen minutes. See you in the distant time…“Denisa said goodbye and the TV got dark.

„This is the evening, do you agree, team? I am so proud, that this Device is a creation of ourCorporation!“

After connecting again, the viewers could only hear a female breath. At first, it was fast andshallow, but gradually slowed down, as the Operative calmed.

„Establishing visual connection… Wait…“

Later, a known sounds of a city and distant gunfire were heard, as her external microphoneswere activated.

And then – a picture emerged!

She was in Prague, and it was 1945. Heavy fighting and barricades everywhere. The PragueUprising was at its peak, and the defenses were crumbling against the enemy, desperate tobreak through, to get to the West.

She proceed quickly, speechless and with certainty. It was just several blocks from here, the„Masaryk Train Station“, where the crime should soon happen.

The local people reacted to the team differently. Some asked questions, some gave directions,warned of enemy, or just asked for assistance. But the team had no authorization to interact orhelp.

But her breath was still there, and maybe even her heartbeat. It was a completely hypnotizingexperience for everybody watching! She seemed so fragile and feminine… but still, she wasthe Operative of the Military Counterintelligence, tasked with the dangerous mission. Thiscontradiction was even sensual…

In that time, when the world was watching with tension and captivated, Denisa was lying inher bed in that highly classified military Facility, trying to sleep. Of course, that the wholetransmission was pre-recorded and computer generated. It was an unprecedented PSYOP, af-ter all.

But her part was yet not finished. After the mission, she will talk with many politicians andbusinessmen of the world, to negotiate a good stance for the Corporation, so the companywill grow and accept many contributions and gratitudes, to become the most powerful Corpo-ration of the world – this was the plan. And the state will get stronger too…



She was lying in bed, and watched the concrete ceiling above her. Suddenly, a thought abouther ex-boyfriend came, and she felt strong discomfort and wave of sadness and shame. Butshe allowed that, to change her thoughts from all that PSYOP professional charade andCorporation, it occupied her mind for too long already.

What happened that time? Their mutual relationship seemed so fine, until that young femalefashion blogger approached him, asked him to make a few professional photos for her… andin the end, a new couple emerged, and he left Denisa, as he was fully caught into the nets ofthat another woman.

It was a present trend, that this class of female fashion bloggers had a custom to have a boyf-riend, who was their closest collaborator, colleague and photographer in one person. Thesecouples spent much time together, both working and romancing, so the connection was extre-mely deep…

But it was good, because thinking of all that, Denisa was finally asleep and losing her cons-ciousness, ready for the well deserved sleep…

It was a minute after midnight, and she was leaving this world, to enjoy her rest… but sud-denly, something strange come into her mind, a sound of distant gunfire…

She thought, that this is just a memory of that recorded historical session, but she opened hereyes and lifted her head from the pillow anyway, distracted.

She was awoken immediately. It was not a dream! There was a real shooting on the surface,above her!

So it happened! It was always a possibility, that a foreign power will try anything to get theirhands on the Device!

Denisa got out of the bed, and her moves became swift. They had precise emergency pro-cedures prepared. So she took a combat military uniform from the wardrobe.

Somebody knocked the door. A fully armed female Army captain entered into the room.„Wake up, girl. The war just begun! Get dressed. Procedure Beige is in effect.“

„I know,“ Denisa replied.

In the command center, on the floor up, it could be clearly heard vicious gunfire, automaticcannons, explosions of grenades and RPGs.

„Cannon turrets five and six are down,“ the communications officer reported. „Multipletargets. They are everywhere around us. They use some EMP projectiles, to disrupt our auto-mated defenses.“



„Call the artillery support immediately! We need to clear the northern tree line from theenemies,“ the commander of the facility asked.

„Negative, sir. I hear only static. Our comms are completely cut off!“

Everybody in the room knew, that the enemy made sure they will not be able to use anysupport, and he will be able to force them to destroy the Device by self-destruction sequence.

„You all know the rules! As soon as a first intruder comes to fifty meters from the Facility, wehave to launch the emergency procedures.“

„It´s your call, sir. The system is fully functional and ready. The charges are all online,“ thecomms officer said coldly. After all, it was the property of Corporation, not the Military.

„Send everybody upstairs, to man the defenses. The rest will prepare to abandon the Facility.You, Asset – you come with us.“

„As ordered, sir,“ Denisa acknowledged.

„What the hell did we think? That they will leave us alone with this toy?“ the commandersaid angrily, and Denisa agreed.

Several minutes later, the enemy was already at the Facility entrance, blasting high-poweredcharges, to force the way inside the underground complex.

The rest of defenders activated self-destructing sequence, with timer set to ten minutes, andquickly went through the long tunnel, to the emergency exit to the surface.

„Check the situation upstairs, lieutenant,“ the commander asked.

But the situation was bad – the enemy somehow found out the location of the emergency exit,and prepared an ambush there, as they could see on a camera outside.

And the enemies were already inside the bunker too. The exfiltrating team could already hearthe distant shouts and commands in foreign language. But the floor with the Device was fullysealed, and the enemy still needed a time to breach it.

„We are trapped, people! And you all know what the Procedure Beige says. To prevent enemyfrom seizing the Device, under all conditions.“

In that moment, further professional career of Denisa was strongly endangered…

„Or we could enter the Device, and escape,“ Denisa said suddenly.

„How do you mean that?“ the commander wondered at such strange suggestion.



„The Device is real. We can escape by activating it, and setting the time one day ago. Thesystem allows that, in the case of such emergency. We still have several minutes before theblast!“

„So this all was not a complete charade, you want to say?“

„Not completely. The Device is real. The Corporation just wanted to gain the most possibleadvantages. So they made this colorful tale.“

„Wait… but you mean a physical transmission, not virtual? It would mean, that we will alterthe past, to prevent all this to happen? It would be against direct orders from the high com-mand, not to interfere with the past events!“

„It is our only choice now! And let´s call this higher interest! Orders are one thing – thepractice and the future of our country is another! Our mission, as the Military, is to preserveour state and its basic values using any means possible!

If we would just end here, wasted, we wouldn´t help to achieve this goal. Let´s do it – we willbe judged in some other time. But we will fulfill our pledge to the homeland!“

„OK… let´s go!“ the commander ordered without hesitation.

They returned to the hall, where the Device was built. It was an impressive invention. Buteven all that well trained soldiers were scared! It was never tested, to send a human beingthrough the time displacement machine!

„Who will go first?“ the commander asked the group. Nobody wanted to enter the strangeand scary Device!

„I will go,“ Denisa volunteered.

„No, not you! You know more than us, you always knew more! You can´t be trusted!“ thecommander denied such suggestion.

But Denisa already entered the Device, and activated it from the inside. Nobody stopped her.

„Just push the code 47381 on the keyboard, and wait five seconds. Everything is automatic,“she instructed them.

The Device started to glow, and the power input was increasing.

And then – she simply disappeared.

„Now you, lieutenant,“ the commander ordered.

The comms officer entered inside, and pushed the buttons. But nothing happened!



They realized too late, that they were fooled by her. She had her own orders.

The blast came in seconds and erased everything, everybody…

Except Denisa.

She was already at some other time, some other place…

How will she use this ultimate advantage?
