A Young Boys Life in Colonial Times
In the 1 700's All children were not like children of
today. They worked all day, minded their manors all
the time and tried to never disobey their parents or
other adults.
Meeting Houses
Many Colonists held
Meetings, court, school,
and church all in
Meeting Houses.
Children were expected
to sit still, no talking, no
laughing and no sleeping
during these meetings.
Activities for Colonial children in 1700s
Children would
make their own
toys, sing songs
and rhymes and
play sports
together, weather
permitting.
Clothing in Colonial timesBoys wore loose dresses till they were 4-5 years old
