I’m attending I.c.stars to make change within myself, people, then my community. Considering all the things I have experienced, gained, and lost I feel that I have a few new things to learn while using my screen projector to show as many people as possible that limitation has no power. Only you as a individual has it so use it to go above and beyond, I mean past the stars. I know others have different stories for motivation and why they are doing whatever it is they are doing but I think mines may be a different. I'm of course here at I.c.stars because I'm a “Geek” or “Nerd” as people would call it cause of my love and strong passion for technology. But its much more than that, its more of the fact that I've recently lost two very close friends over the last 3-4 years and it really struck me. Knowing that Chicago is known for high murder rates especially for my generation, I wouldn’t never thought that two kids I randomly met at a museum that was just as geeky as I am maybe 10 times worse and grows up to go off to college to be even more geeky would suddenly no longer be sharing this earth with me for no apparent reason. I know one thing I for certainly learned from them, that was to be you at all times. If you want change, you have to change first. Be Different, when people see it they will eventually follow it. Stand tall and always have a voice and never limit yourself. Never.
People are amazed by all the experiences I done had so far in my life, especially at I.c.stars. Then for me to be so young is even more thrilling to me and others. But I make sure I everyone whether I'm nervous or not that I'm doing all of this because I'm speaking for much more than just myself. I’m speaking for two of my best friends that’s no longer with us today, so they no longer physically have a voice nor opportunity to help change the world, I will do it for them. I will do everything that they no longer can show to the world. Since then I have stepped out of my comfort zone. I want people to know you have no limitation go and chase whatever it is you want. Step out of the comfort zone. As I always say “Change you, Change people, Change communities, Change cities, Change the world”. This is one of the many reasons why I can say I'm a proud member of I.c.stars.
