Raging bull

Raging Bull stars the signature actor Robert Di Nero as the protagonist. The opening starts off in a slow motion where the character is getting ready to fight. The music in the background is jazzy like. We also see that the opening is in black and white. We also find out that the character is establish first in the scene where he is getting ready to fight. The character seems to be isolated because he’s surrounded by the ring on his one. The location is New York because we see a establish shot of it in the next scene. The opening is in a steady cam style. The audience in the background is out of focused because its blurred, the central focus is on the protagonist. The title in the opening juxtapose with the music.

Taxi Driver

In the opening of Taxi Driver we hear a jazzy music in the background. We see the establishing shot of New York through the character’s eye but we can tell the protagonist in this case Robert Di Nero is tired due to the establishing shot being blurred, the lights being blurred out tells us that the location the film is set is in New York. It’s an out of focus shot. The get introduced to the plot before it has been told due to the action of the character. We see a extreme close up of the character’s face expression and from that we can tell he’s tired.

We recognise that these two films are by Martin Scorsese because of the characters who star in his film, Robert Di Nero is the main character we see in nearly every martin Scorsese film, such as Raging Bull and Taxi Driver, he’s the main Character in those films. Another character we see in some Martin Scorsese’s films is Joey Pesci. Throughout the

The characters in the films are all isolated, they are different to other characters for example in the opening of Raging Bull the character is isolated in the ring because he’s alone and surrounded by the ring. In Taxi Driver we can the tell the character is isolated and different to other people because he can’t get no sleep.
