Apple Tips and Tricks

Apple isn’t only a fruit that might just keep the doctor away; it also happens to

be a technology company and force to be reckoned with. Apple apps are plentiful,

and apple tutorials can sometimes be confusing.

With Apple products making their way into homes across the country, it’s natural

that whilst some technical wizards instantly know every tip, trick and secret to

their iPad or iPhone, most of us won’t. That’s why these tips have been compiled

to help you get the upper hand. Our Apple tutorials and app tutorials will help you

get the upper hand. If you’re and Android user, then you should also keep reading

as some of the tips could also be classed as Android tutorials and will benefit you

too!

Rearranging Your Apps:

Are you tired of having to scroll through pages of apps to simply find one short

game? Well luckily for you, you can not only rearrange their order, but also group

them in folders.

To move an app all you have to do is simply tap and hold the icon you want to

move, and after a tiny wait you’ll be able to drag it around the screen and place it

on any page you like.

To create a folder, all you have to do is follow the steps above, but then place

the icon on top of another. This will group the two together in folder which you

can rename. Each folder can hold over ten apps each so you no longer need to

search through pages of apps to find your favourites.

Saving Images from the Internet:

Ever found an online image that you thought would make a great background but

you had no idea how to save the image? Sure you have. Here’s a simple way to

solve that problem and save an image from the internet.

By simply tapping and holding an image, you’ll be prompted to save the image. This

will then be placed into your pictures library.

Typing Faster:

This is a tip for those who send a lot of emails or make a lot of notes.

When you reach the end of a sentence, instead of losing momentum in your typing

searching for the period, you can simply double tap the space bar. That will insert

a period followed by a space so you can keep on typing.

This trick also works on most other phones including Androids and Blackberry.

Taking a Screenshot:

Whether you need a picture of the greatest Angry Birds score you’ve ever had, or

of someone goofing off on Facetime, you’ll be pleased to know you can take of

screenshot extremely easily. By pushing the Home and Lock button simultaneously,

you will take a picture of the current screen which will then be saved into your

picture library. Voilà, now you have immortalised your friend’s goofy face on your

iPad or other device.

Muting the Sound:

If you’re in a hurry to turn off the sound, simply hold down the volume down

button for two seconds and all noise from your phone or tablet will be muted.

Multitasking Apps:

iOS 4.2 brought the feature of multitasking, this allows you to easily switch

between apps without closing any of them.

To switch between open apps, double tap the Home button to bring up your

recently used apps, then simply tap the one you want to switch to.
