CuttingTO MAKE 1 STRIP SET:

Cut (2) 3 1/2" by 18" strips from a fat quarter

Cut (1) 1 1/2" by 18" strip from coordinatingwavy stripe

Piece as shown below. Press and cut 2 AppleCores from the strip.

Handle the blocks very carefully, as they allhave bias edges.

MAKE THE FOLLOWING STRIP SETS:

From BROWN fabrics (there are 6):• Make 1 set from 1• Make 2 sets from each of the remaining5 fabrics

From RED fabrics (there are 3):• Make 1 set from each

From PINK fabrics (there are 2):• Make 3 sets from 1• Make 2 sets from 1

From DARK ORANGE fabrics (there are 3):• Make 1 set each

From ORANGE/YELLOW fabrics (there are 5):• Make 1 set each

From DARK GREEN fabrics (there are 2):• Make 1 set each

From LIGHT GREEN fabrics (there are 4):• Make 1 set each from 3• Make 2 sets from 1

From DARK BLUE fabrics (there are 3):• Make 1 set each

From LIGHT BLUE fabrics (there are 3):• Make 2 sets each from 2• Make 1 set from 1

From DARK PURPLE fabrics (there are 2):• Make 1 set from each

From LIGHT PURPLE fabrics (there are 3):• Make 2 sets each from 2• Make 1 set from 1

If you have cut 2 Apple Cores from each stripset, you will have 98 Apple Core blocks. You willonly need 90 of these.

TIPS FOR PIECING APPLE CORES:

• Find the center of each side and mark withwater soluble pen .

• Match centers and pin carefully. Sew slowly,removing the pins as you go.

Construction1. Piece the Apple Cores in rows according tothe color photo. There are nine rows. Each rowhas 10 Apple Core blocks. Press carefully.

2. Sew the rows together. Press after each rowis added.

3. Quilt as desired. Use bias binding to coverthe curved edges.
