THE NEWSSTANDThe way in which we consume information is changing. Some will say traditional print media is obsolete. But its apparent demise has opened the door for independent creative self expression.

Zine culture has been producing influential independent publications for decades and a recent rise of awareness has given this platform a renewed life. With a focus on personal creative expression these modern zines offers a deeper look at culture in a way rarely seen in mass media.

It is as supporters, afficionados and participants in this community that ALLDAYEVERYDAY launches The Newsstand. The month long pop-up space takes the format of the Subway Newsstand and utilizes it as a venue for independent publishers by offering a selection of the leading zines and artists' publications available today. The temporary retail shop will be housed underground, at the Metropolitan Avenue subway station in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of to the L and G trains, it is a space and opportunity unique to New York City.

Produced by ALLDAYEVERYDAY, The Newsstand is curated by Lele Saveri of the The 8-Ball Zine fair, with over 100 titles and publications from some of the most well respected names in independent publishers around the world.

The shop will also house a small selection of independent music with a listening station for Vinyl, cassette tapes and CDs. ALLDAYEVERYDAY encourages the creation of art for the purpose of self expression and we believe that the physical nature of these products can create a deeper connection to the arts for the fans.
