SCENE 1

An over-the-shoulder shot of a male character taking a walk through Gault Wood. The character is on his phone, but we cannot hear him speaking as of yet. This shot lasts for a few seconds, then fades to a caption that reads

FADE

“IN A NORMAL WOOD, NORMAL THINGS SHOULD HAPPEN”

FADE

The same over-the-shoulder shot is used, and the sound of his voice fades in to hear him talking on the phone to a friend.

MALE

Did you hear about those strange events? I thought I’d go and discover if there’s any truth in that.

The over-the-shoulder shot cuts to a close-up of his face. He looks tense and uneasy as he says:

MALE

I’ll be fine. Don’t worry about me. Don’t worry.

JUMP CUT

SCENE 2

Wide Shot of a street, with a lamppost visible. On the lamppost is a sign that says ‘MISSING’. The camera zooms in to this lamppost until it is a close-up.

newspaper. The headline shows that his friend has gone missing.

The shot fades to another caption across the screen on a black background, which reads “BUT IN THIS WOOD…”

There is a quick cut back to him, in a medium shot that is side-on, and bangs his fist on the table.

ROBERT

I’ve got to find Chris.

The shot cuts back to a caption on a black background. It reads “…NORMAL THINGS DON’T HAPPEN”

SCENE 3

Camera is behind Robert. A tracking shot shows him walking towards the gate that leads into the wood.

ROBERT

(Whispering) Ok.

The camera cuts to a close-up of a sign on the wall, which reads ‘BEWARE, ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK’

Scene cuts to a point of view shot looking down at footsteps on the ground. Some of Chris’ belongings are on the floor. A phone for example.

Then the scene cuts to a medium close-up of Robert looking puzzled at the footsteps.

Another cut to a side angle shot of Robert.

VOICEOVER: ROBERT

(Sounding scared, slightly weak) Don’t do it.

SCENE 4

An over-the-shoulder shot shows Robert looking at a pond. He begins to bend down.

The shot cuts to a close-up of him still bent down, pulling a pair of trainer out of the pond.
