Slide One.

Fall Out Boy had been on a ‘indefinite hiatus’ since late 2009, something which most fans had thought to be an unofficial break up, so when they suddenly

came back with a new, mysterious song this first frame was extremely effective in exciting all their old fans back into life. Their name and then the name of the song are displayed clearly at the

beginning, but until the end that is all the audience gets the quench their questions with.

Slide Two.

Here is a close up of the gasoline dripping from branches before a bomb fire is light up. The slow motion and high definition of this shot helps the build up as it fits with the music gaining volume. Both the visual and the audio work together as

they raise the level of intensity: the chorus beginning and the bomb fire being light.

Slide Three.

Here again the visual and the audio work together with the build up of the song and video. It is also another close up of still life. This is because they tried to prevent the audience to see the actual

members of Fall Out Boy for as long as possible , or any associated person, to keep up the mystery and

the audiences attention.

Slide Four.

Here is an omnibus van that delivered the featured rapper 2 Chainz, the character that brought attention the songs more hip hop style. And

coming from both sides of the van, out of the mist, are two stereotypical, scantly clad women, dressed up to match the rest of the misse en scene of the video: Hard Rock. The back of the van is clearly

displayed to nudge people’s curiosity into wondering what is in the back of the van.

Slide Five.

Here the women can be seen throwing all the acoustic instruments into the fire, with the fire

taking up half the shot, though the focus is on the women. Everything in this shot comes down to the new style of a harder rock theme for Fall Out Boy.

The video may also be seen to be announcing how the group are going with the crowd and changing their image to fit with the modern convention of not using the acoustic instruments as much, but

going with the style displayed by 2 Chainz.

Slide Six.

Here a Fall Out Boy guitar strap can be seen being thrown into the fire to burn, perhaps symbolic for the groups thoughts on changing their style and

wanting to start over. It may also be a way of saying the guitar straps are no longer needed as they will be joining most other musical artists like the featured rapper by creating their new tracks

completely out of studio technology.

Slide Seven.

With this slow motion shot of fire being shot from a flame thrower by the featured rapper 2 Chains, over onto the pile of instruments the girls had

created it gives the feel of a much darker style of music, as though the genres portrayed by the

current people in the video are taking over. And their vandalistic air may be a hint at the corruption

of the softer music Fall Out Boy had originally made.

Slide Eight.

Here one of their old albums from when the band first got started can be seen also in the fire. On the cover of this album are all of the members, which

may be a good bye as none of the original members have yet been seen in this videos, yet

their pictures are being set in fire. This is one of the things the audience had been worried about most if the group ever did get back together, as it would

have been very possible for not all member to want to return to their former group, prompting a

replacement.

Slide Nine.

This last shot is after the two women and the featured rapper have burnt everything and returned to the van, to which they open the doors to reveal four men with their arms and feet bound and their heads covered. This again keeps the suspension of the audience as it is not reveled who exactly have returned to the group, making them want to watch the next video that is to come out. This shot also confirms the suspicions that a story is being told here, and the characters shown throughout the video have yet to be explained.
