She and Annette had never really got on that well, it was Megan who brought them together. When she wasn’t training with the junior police cadets she was hanging out with her mum and learning to cook from her.

Aimee and Marley were worried about their only daughter, and weren’t sure what to do. That Megan girl form across the road had been so confident, but it hadn’t rubbed off on Malika. They hoped the cadets would have brought her out of her shell a bit, but she never said a word about whether she had friends at the meetings.

Aimee suggested Marley spend some time with her, try and see if she would open up to him. But from what he could tell, their quiet daughter was quietly content.

Annette was feeling alone too. Megan was her best friend, her first friend made in Appaloosa. Now she was a teen, it forced her into realising how much she had missed her recently. The friends from the stables were okay, but she sensed that twins Adam and Alicia thought she was a charity case. Now they were all she had.

She phoned Alicia, her whole weekend was clear – did she want to do anything?

Alicia said she was busy. All weekend. Annette couldn’t believe it, she had never turned her down before.

She decided to be bold and go round the Baileys. Megan had been friends with that Allain guy when she was a kid and he was a teen. Maybe they could be too. Megan was pleased to see her, and assured her they were definitely still friends. They hung out chatting all afternoon.

Megan had missed Annette it was true. And she was furious that the twins had dropped her, now when she needed them more than ever. She decided to do something about it. Bring them down a peg or two, teach them they aren’t so high above everyone they can’t be taught a lesson.

She decided to vandalise their little club house, a good egging followed by some graffiti. They were so proud of the place, the place they went instead of a home with loving parents. It should hit them where it hurt.

Not caught by the police, Megan was free to attend Trinity and Belladonna’s birthday party. They were due to age up from young adults into full adults.

Page 10: 7.32

Allain was there with his older brother, and was pleased to see Megan again. He’d had to rush away from her birthday party so hadn’t really seen her as a teen before. He asked her how she was doing, and told her the ‘clean’ version of what he was up to.

Megan had suffered from a massive crush on Allain as a child, and meeting him again as a teen brought back all her feelings for him. She was totally smitten for this bad boy who could opt out of school because he wanted to.

For Allain, it was great to have Megan his age at last. She was awesome as a kid, and she seemed no different now.

Throughout the party Megan felt like there was conversation going over her head. When she asked Trinity what she was whispering with Edgar about she was given something vague about work.

Page 13: 7.32

Trinity wasn’t happy about Megan getting so involved with her criminal friends, but she didn’t know how to warn her off without giving the game away.

Luckily, the age up sparkles distracted the girl from asking any more questions.
