F r o n t C o v e rThe front cover of this album shows Katy Perry laying in a cloud of candyfloss. Although she is naked in the image it still connotes innocents and fun, stereotypical of a female pop singer songwriter. Both Titles on the front cover are written in a candy style fonts, the candy theme is apparent throughout this album. Using candy as a theme is mainly targeted at young girls as it is fun and girly. Her name is written in quite a big font so to stand out, its written in red and blue which stands out but also blends nicely with the pink candyfloss background. The colour theme of this album is very feminine and pop styled. Although the album is mainly targeted at young females the image of her naked in the clouds shows an edge and is there to attract a male audience.

I n s i d e S l e e v eThe inside sleeve is a pull-out booklet which contains song lyrics and photos of Katy Perry. The photos In the booklet are very different to the front cover picture, they are more edgy and sophisticated. Instead of bright pinks and reds the images are set on a black background, The artist is not naked this time but has very little clothing on. This represents an artist trying to cater to different audiences. On the front cover Katy looks relaxed and is smiling however the photos In the booklet show her with red lipstick on looking very serious and pouting. The red lipstick is very striking and stands out from the black background. The candy theme is continued in these photos as seen below, she is wearing a candy necklace and a crown made from candy.

The CD disk also denotes the candy theme as it is in the style of a Lollypop. The colours of the disk are pinks and white, this follows the fun, bubbly , pop theme and is appealing to a younger audience. To fit in with the theme before the CDS were released they were all spritzed with a candy spelling fragrance as an extra perk to the album.

The back cover shows a numbered track list of all the songs on the album. The track list is on top of the repeated candyfloss cloud background. The font of track list continues the candy theme as the writing is in the style of red liquorice with every ‘o’ in the style of a red and white lollypop. This concludes the albums all together theme and purpose ‘fun’ .
