10. ONE GIANT HOMER
To promote the release of the new Simpsons Movie, Fox created a massive chalk drawing of Homer Simpson with one of his favourite doughnuts. It received worldwide publicity.

London’s luxury store Harrods decided that they would wrap up a whole helicopter in giftwrap and present it to one lucky customer. This was a stunt designed to promote Harrods Aviation.

8. BIG APPLE’S ZOMBIE INVASION
The new 2010 Walking Dead series was promoted by over twenty genuine-looking zombies wandering around New York City, including Madison Square and the Brooklyn Bridge.

7. CLUB TROPICANA
In 2012, Tropicana created a massive fake sun and hung it over Trafalgar Square in London. They handed out free orange juice and branded merchandise to the crowd, and even provided them with sunbeds!

After losing a bet with Air Asia boss Tony Fernandes, Richard Branson committed to dressing up as an air stewardess! He even shaved his legs to keep it authentic. This stunt raised money for an Australian charity.

Madonna and Britney’s infamous snog at the 2003 MTV Awards made tabloid front pages across the world, giving their music - and MTV – great exposure!

4. DOVE’S CAMPAIGN FOR REAL BEAUTY
This campaign is one of Dove’s biggest successes, as they recognised that featuring real women in their adverts and poster marketing would appeal to the British audience. Dove are rumoured to have seen a 700% increase in sales.

3. THE FACEBOOK ARM
Tattoo artist Dex Moelker from Rotterdam claimed to have tattooed one of her clients with all 152 of her Facebook friends. Alas, it turned out to be a temporary job – but it certainly got her worldwide publicity!

Recognising that their television adverts were seen to be some of the most irritating in the UK, Go Compare decided to go along with the trend and vandalise their own marketing posters. They showed a great flexibility here, adapting to what their audience was thinking.

1. RED BULL STRATOS
Truly one of the most amazing achievements in man’s history and in Red Bull’s already remarkable marketing catalogue. Felix Baumgartner jumped exactly 119,846 feet, reaching free-fall speeds of 834.4mph. It was Red Bull funded, and cost tens of millions of dollars. Extreme!
