Jordan and Nike: Revolution of the Sole• In 1984 Jordan was drafted by the Chicago Bulls as the 3rd draft pick

• Nike had struggling revenue and was looking for a fresh endorser to help with sales

• Michael was not interested in Nike and preferred Adidas or Converse

• After much persuasion by his agent and his parents, Michael decided to go see Nike’s offer

• “Those are the devil’s colours” said Michael after viewing the Jordan 1’s

• He would then sign a 5 year $2.5 million deal, plus royalties, with Nike

• The rest is history, as Michael soared into greatness, so did his shoe line
