TITANIUM GRADE 7
TI-0.15PD OVERVIEW
Applications, Products, and Properties
Properties of Ti-0.15Pd
Ti Grade 7 is an interesting alloy to say the
least. With mechanical properties similar to
grade 2, with excellent fabricability and
weldability.
It also is one of the most resistant to corrosion
in reducing acids which makes it highly
valuable in chemical processing and
production equipment applications.
Common Ti Applications
Titanium is an excellent
source for applications
needing high strength, low
weight, and resistance to
heat but it is also an
excellent candidate for
processes needing a metal
that is resistant to corrosion
in water as well as reducing
acids.
Titanium is one of the only
elements with these
properties all in one. It also
blends well with other alloys
and metals making it even
more applicable.
Applications of Grade 7
This alloy is similar to grade 2 with
the exception of the interstitial
element palladium making it an
alloy.
Some of Grade 7’s strengths in
applications lie in being the most
corrosion resistant of all titanium
alloys and also resistant to
localized attack in halide media
like sodium chloride or potassium
iodide.
Because of these amazing
properties, Ti-0.15Pd is used
widely in chemical processing
applications, desalination and
production equipment.
Property Ratings and Comparisons
Having the same mechanical properties as grade 2 Ti
grade 7 still has high strength excellent weldability and
formability. With the addition of palladium, this metal
has improved performance under reducing conditions
where corrosion is a problem.
Common Product Forms
Titanium Grade 7 is available in a variety of
different product forms from bars and billets to
plates and tubes. Be sure you have a
distributor who offers timely delivery with a
large stock of product.

Conclusion
Titanium Grade 7 is one of the most important
alloys. Though its applications are well bounded
to chemical processing and desalination and
power generation, these applications are
necessary for today’s world.
Remember to be choosy with the grade of
titanium that will best benefit your project. See
