Vo = (3.14)(30)2 (200)Vo = 565200 ft3……………………………………………….Ans(i)

We know that the mined volume will be (Ore + Waste);Where; Ore + Waste = Volume of fully circumscribed coneVolume of fully circumscribed cone = 1/3(π)R2 HC

Volume of truncated tip = 1/3(π) (r)2▲hVM = Volume of fully circumscribed cone – Volume of truncated tipVM = 1/3(π)R2 HC – 1/3(π) (r)2▲h

Putting values, we have;VM = 1/3(3.14) (100)2 (250) - 1/3(3.14) (30)2 (50)VM = 2616666.667 – 47100VM = 2569566.667 ft3…………………………………………Ans(ii)

We know that the volume of waste will be (mined volume - ore volume);VW = VM + Vo

Where;VM = 1/3(π)R2 HC

Vo = π r2 hVW = (1/3(π)R2 HC – 1/3(π) (r)2▲h) - π r2 h

Putting the values of Ans (i) & (ii), we get;VW = 2569566.667 - 565200VW = 2004366.667 ft3………………………………………..Ans(iii)

We know that the Stripping ratio is;SR = Waste(Volume)/Ore(Volume)

Putting the values of Ans (i) & (iii), we get;SR =2004366.667/565200SR = 3.6……………………………………………………..Ans(iv)

……………………………………….The End………………………………………..
