•First 3 weeks resources are mobilized and training is performed. •Following 6 weeks, works ramp up •After the first 9 weeks works take off •24 weeks after kickoff 500 Km were trenched., duct laid and backfilled. •300Km fiber blown after 24 weeks

• 540 Km of 1.2m deep trench dug by sheer muscle power • Total earth moved: 254.400m3 • If put in 20ft containers it required 7718 containers • Enough to fill 02 Panamax-Class Container ships

• At peak Huawei had 1.000 to 1.100 labourers. • Ericsson had at peak 500 labourers.

Most costs is local labor

• The project drew all resources available in the country. • Machinery

• Compressors • Jackhammers • Trenchless Machinery • Fusion Splicers

• To be able to complete on time need to fly in technicians and

machines from South Africa

• Ericsson knocked machines down. Airfreighted and re-assembled them in country.

• Huawei local subcontractors imported trenchless machinery from Germany and China to cope
