PVD is a thin ceramic coating with high adhesion; hardness higher than any galvanic
coating, low friction, high resistance to oxidation and protects against thermal and
chemical attack. Resists wear by abrasion and adhesion; is chemically inert and
biocompatible.
WS2 is a high tech coating lubricant that reduces friction to 0.03; exceptional
lubrication; permanent release agent; approved for food industry. Molecular adhesion
to any metal or resin substrate, with a thickness of 0.5 microns.
Metallic = PVD + WS2
Co-depositing a highly ionised PVD layer and an inter-metallic lubricant. Improve
forming tool performance by as much as 10 fold.
DECORATIVE PVD
Deposition of Zirconium, Titanium, Chromium or other combinations of metal ions, with
reactive gases in high vacuum chambers.
The applied coating maintains the original finish: polished, mate, satin or brushed.
17
DECORATIVE PVD
Offers a wide range of colors with guaranteed Uniformity and High production
output in the short, medium and long-term.

DECORATIVE PVD
19
• Superior adhesion and wear resistance than chromium plated or other
electroplated materials
• Serial production: Diversity and color reproducibility
• High hardness (greater than 2000 HV)
• UV resistance
• Low Temperature
• Warranty of durability
• Compatibility with food industry and surgical industry
• More resistant than any galvanic coatings
• Anallergic
• Eco-friendly Coating: non-polluting process/product
BENEFITS
DECORATIVE PVD

• Table and kitchen Cutlery
• Pocket knives
• Bathroom acessories
• Hardware for doors and furniture
• Lighting
• Pens
• Weapons
• Medical and surgical instruments
APLICATIONS
DECORATIVE PVD
21
• Sports accessories
• Musical instruments
• Automobile accessories
• Jewellery and fashion accessories
• Watches components
• Sunglasses , and others
APLICATIONS
FUNCTIONAL PVD
The PVD Functional coating allows to reduce losses and wear on tools and
components in mechanical industry therefore increasing its lifetime.
22
FUNCTIONAL PVD
23
• Increases tool life
• Reduces downtimes and
maintenance periods
• Increases equipment productivity
• Lowers production costs
• Improves products quality
EFFECTSBENEFITS
• Lower wear
• Hardness (2100 to 4000HV)
• Friction reduction(0,4 to 0,7)
• Facilitates release
• Allows higher speeds
• Reduces or eliminates the need of lubrication
• Improves surface finish
• Resists corrosion and oxidation
• Doesn't affect neither the dimensions nor the
finish of the parts (2-6µm)
FUNCTIONAL PVD
24
• Cutting and forming tools
• Moulds for plastic
• Extrusion dies
• Machine and motor components (e.g.
Bearings, gears)
• Medical instruments and surgical
implants
• Chemical and food industry
• Pad printing, paper printing; …
APLICATIONS
WS2
25
• Acquires the hardness of the substrate
• Withstands temperatures from -273 º C to 650 º C
• Increases wear resistance
• Application at room temperature
• Resists carbon built-up
• Solves problems in plastics molding, robotics, food
processing, forming and cutting, automotive,
medical applications, among others.
• Can only be removed by eliminating the bonded
substrate
BENEFITS
WS2
26
• Reduces the friction coefficient to 0.03 (less than half the graphite, Moly (MoS2) and
Teflon)
• Solves problems such as friction, excessive wear, seizing, galling and fretting
• Maintains the dimensional integrity of the substrate with no build-up
• Withstands loads to 70kg/mm2 (or load capacity equal to substrate)
• Offers 100% lubricity throughout its texture
• Is inert, inorganic, non-toxic, non-distortive, non-corrosive
• Resistant to most fuel solvents
• Compatible with all oils and greases
BENEFITS
METALLIC
27
• Provides a 0,035-0,065 coefficient of friction
• Exceptional wear resistance and hardness 2500 HV
• Better corrosion resistance than Chrome or Nickel plating
• A surface finish as supplied on the substrate up to a 10 µm
• Tremendous ductility and surface finish
• Better adhesion than other coatings because of lower film structure stresses
• Operating temperature range to 650ºC while maintaining all the above features and
benefits
• Thickness 3-5 µm
