Title: Utilization of Electrical Energy and Maintenance of Fabrication Machinery and its Applications Project Description:In Switchyard the Power Distribution at 33kv voltage level is brought down to 440v in two stages.

Stage 1: Power at 33kv is step down to 11kv and supplied to Main Receiving Station which is step down to 440v.

Stage 2: In case of Power Failure Generator produces power 6.3kv is step up to 11kv and supplied to MRS to 440v. Power at 440v is supplied to fabrication machinery called roller positioners, cranes, induction motors, welding generators and hydraulic bending machines etc..,

Key Responsibilities:

To identify the electrical energy can be utilized effectively and the technologies needed to be adopted for cost effectiveness.

To check the layout of Power Distribution system specifies the 33kv power which is brought down to 440v in two stages.

Maintenance and protection of Transformers, Circuit breakers, Isolators, Surge Arrestors, Relays and cables.

Breakdowns of Fabrication Machinery to get Repaired and Reused as well.

To design and analyze Power and Control circuits of Fabrication Machinery.

Projects and Publications

Project#1Title: Control of Doubly Fed Induction Generator connected to Variable Speed Wind TurbineProject Description:The term Doubly Fed Induction Generator refers the power from both stator and rotor paths can generate large amounts of electricity. The objective of the project is to control voltage and frequency should be constant and to maintain the slip/rotor power as negative in super synchronous mode of operation and as positive in sub synchronous mode of operation using back-back Pulse Width Modulated Converters.

Project#2Title: Hardware Implementation of Digital ControllersProject Description:Matlab Simulink integrated with Embedded IDE link 4.2 makes it easy to verify automatically generated and executing code within the Microcontrollers (TMS C2000, Arduino Duo and DSPIC) using a model in Simulink software.

Project#3Title: Dynamic Modelling of Induction Motor and DC Shunt Motor using Matlab Simulink Tool.Project Description:Using Reference Frame Theory, Transformation Matrix, Park and Linear Transformation we will form the equations for modelling the Induction Motor and DC Shunt Motor. After taking the ratings and parameters of practical induction motor and dc shunt motor by using No load test, Blocked Rotor Test, Retardation Test and Turns Ratio Test we can form the equations using Matlab Simulink.

Mini Project: Power Electronic Converters on Wind Turbine SystemsDescription: This project is based on the modern power electronics. Modern Power Electronic converters plays a dominant role on Wind turbine systems but continuously cost and reliability are important issued to be addressed.

Publication & Presentation: “Control of Doubly Fed Induction Generator Connected to Variable Speed Wind Turbine” title paper is published and presented in Technological Advancements of Power and Energy (TAP ENERGY) IEEE international conference held at Amrita School of Engineering College, Amritapuri in 26th June 2015.
