Objectives of the Call for Proposals

1. Develop and test high-end state-of-the-art, all-constellation, all-frequency professional receivers including specific Galileo differentiators for use case scenarios, as described below.

2. Develop (or upgrade existing versions) the corresponding high-end state-of-the-art, all-constellation, all-frequency professional antenna

3. Integrate, test and validate the receivers and antennas

Exploit the specific E-GNSS (and EGNOS whenever possible) differentiators

Receiver-antenna close to market final products for dedicated use cases scenarios

Page 5: High End Receiver - Hriscu

Develop products for 3 use case scenarios

• The applicants are requested to pre-analyse use case scenarios:

USE CASE SCENARIO 1) Centimetre-level precision, high visibility conditions, stationary, physical size power consumption not stringent demands (e.g., oil drilling);

USE CASE SCENARIO 2) Decimetre-level precision, low visibility conditions, dynamic, physical size and power consumptions should be kept to the minimum. (e.g., GIS, mapping under tree canopy);

USE CASE SCENARIO 3) Centimetre-level precision, medium visibility conditions, dynamic, physical size and power consumption not stringent demands (e.g., automated steering);

USE CASE SCENARIO 4) Centimetre-level precision, low visibility conditions, dynamic, physical size and power consumption should be kept to the minimum (e.g., typical cases of RTK usage such as surveying).

USE CASE SCENARIO 5), 6)… proposed by the applicants

Page 6: High End Receiver - Hriscu

Develop products for 3 use case scenarios

• Pre-analyse all the use case scenarios, for each one list:– critical user requirements– environmental constraints– applications for each use case scenario– R&D activities implied by the development of receivers & antennas

• The applicants are requested to select 3 use case scenarios

• Once the project is awarded, the beneficiaries will develop the 3 receivers and corresponding antennas for the selected use case scenarios

Page 7: High End Receiver - Hriscu

Development of professional receivers and antennas

• The applicants shall justify the choice of the 3 use case scenarios, considering how the envisaged final products respond to at least:

– Optimal use of Galileo differentiators (and EGNOS, whenever possible);

– Level of innovation;– Complementarity with other technologies;– Identified demands of the high-precision market;– Competitiveness of the envisaged final products.

Features of the developed receivers (1/3)

• Design and develop/upgrade 3 close to market receivers

• All-constellation, all-frequency• Optimised for the use case scenario addressed• Optimal use and processing of Galileo signals (and

EGNOS, whenever possible)• Self-standing, individually marketable compatible

with other high-end receiver components REQUIRED…

Page 9: High End Receiver - Hriscu

Features of the developed receivers (2/3)

• Use of differentiators Galileo – 3 Galileo frequencies E1/E5/E6– Pilot tones – reduce the integration times; provide

higher sensitivity– Use of CS:

• High Accuracy: satellite-based PPP• Authentication

– Other differentiators

TO BE CONSIDERED…

Page 10: High End Receiver - Hriscu

Features of the developed receivers (3/3)

• New concepts of signal processing• Smart implementation of multi-constellation multi-frequency signal combination

and processing• Use carrier phase-based positioning• Optimised TTFF: proposed combination GPS+Galileo • Coupling and hybridisation with other sensors, GNSS and non-GNSS• Others:

– acquisition techniques, multipath mitigation, highly-sensitive algorithms for low-visibility scenarios, in-band interference cancelation, beam-filtering techniques, signal selection for selective tracking of satellites with high N/O ratio, SDR, anti-jamming, etc.

• Features developed can be used for more than one use case scenarios

Features of the developed antennas

• Design or upgrade 3 antennas

• All-constellation, all-frequency

• Compatible with the corresponding receivers

• Features developed can be used for more than one use case scenarios

• To be considered by the applicants:– Real multi-elements antenna (CRPA) or synthetic array techniques– Anti-jamming antenna– etc.

• Self standing antennas
