FIRE RATED DUCTWORK (2 HOUR) SPECIFICATION

1.0 General Requirements

All fire rated ductwork to be Galvanised Iron, Stainless Steel (or Mild Steel Duct with Antirust Primer), constructed to tested standards and protected with fire resistant coating. The duct to be composite fire duct manufactured to Method 3 of BS5588 Part 9, factory or site produced. Ductwork to be produced in sections and is assembled on site utilising tested fireproof gaskets/sealants. Once erected, to be pressure tested, if required by Engineer, to DW144 and/or SMACNA standards, in line with the pressure classification of the duct being installed. The coating shall be of minimum 0.7mm (dry film) thickness.

2.0 The Specification of Fire Rated Ductwork

2.1 Proof of Fire rated ductwork constructed for ventilation/smoke extract systems tested to BS476 Part 24 (1987) and ISO6944 (1985) for two hours Stability and Integrity shall be submitted. When used as smoke extract, duct to maintain a minimum of 75% cross-sectional area along its whole length for at least two hours. Evidence of test must be submitted. The Fire Rated Ductwork to be protected with fire resisting coating materials to specifications by manufacturer. Composition of the coating materials shall be of encapsulating compound, non-hazardous copolymer emulsion and aggregates. Intumescent coating materials shall not be accepted. 1.2.1 Fire rated ductwork constructed for kitchen

extract systems to be tested to BS476 Part 24 (1987) and ISO6944 (1985) for two hours Stability and Integrity. Suitable insulation cladding of mineral wool material

1.0 Yêu cầu chung

Tất cả ống gió chống cháy làm từ tôn mạ kẽm, thép không rỉ(hoặc là ống thép mềm với lớp sơn chống rỉ) phải được kiểm tra theo tiêu chuẩn và được bảo vệ bằng một lớp sơn phủ chống cháy. Ống gió có thể được gia công tại xưởng hoặc công trường và theo phương pháp 3 của tiêu chuẩn Anh BS5588 chương 9. Ống gió được sản xuất từng phần và nối với nhau bằng roong và keo được kiểm định chống cháy. Mỗi khi được lắp nối,nếu có kỹ sư yêu cầu thì phải được kiểm tra áp suất theo tiêu chuẩn DW144 và/hoặc SMACNA phù hợp với sự phân loại áp suất của ống gió. Lớp sơn bảo vệ có độ dày ít nhất là 0.7mm (sau khi khô).

2.0 Tiêu chuẩn kỹ thuật của ống gió chống

cháy. 2.1 Tài liệu về ống gió chống cháy cho hệ thống thông gió/hút gió phải được kiểm tra theo tiêu chuẩn BS476 chương 24(1987) và ISO 6944(1985) trong 2 giờ về tính ổn định và nguyên vẹn, phải được kiểm tra. Ống gió hút khói, phải được giữ nguyên ít nhất 75% mặt cắt của chiều dài trong suốt 2 giờ. Tài liệu về kết quả kiểm tra phải được đệ trình. Ống gió chống cháy phải được bảo vệ bằng lớp sơn theo tiêu chuẩn nhà sản xuất. Thành phần vật liệu của lớp sơn bề mặt phải là hợp chất đồng nhất, chất nhũ không độc hại và đồng chất. Lớp phủ phồng không được chấp nhận cho hệ này. 1.2.1 Cấu tạo của ống gió chống cháy cho hệ hút khói nhà bếp phải được kiểm định theo tiêu chuẩn Anh BS476 chương 24(1987) và ISO6944 (1985) trong vòng 2 giờ về tính ổn định và nguyên vẹn. Kỹ sư sẽ yêu cầu lớp cách nhiệt bằng bông khoáng phù hợp.

shall be added as required by the engineer.

1.2.2 The size of the Fire Rated Duct system

may be extended up to 10 metres wide x 3 metres high without adversely affecting the fire resistant of the duct systems in terms of criteria of BS476: Part 24: 1987.

1.2.3 Fire rated ductwork to have UL

(Underwriters Laboratories) classification and has been tested by UL in the USA to determine compliance with NFPA 90A ( Installation of Air Conditioning and Ventilation Systems ) for flame spread and smoke development with the following results:

1.2.4 Fire rated ductwork to have passed hard body impact resistant test to BS EN 1128: 1996. At impact energy of 52.46 J, no penetration of test specimen, no de-bonding, cracking and other failure of the coating material at impact location. Test report to be submitted.

1.2.5 The fire duct to have been tested by ETL

Intertek for 2 hours to ASTM-E119, including the hose stream test with water pressure of 207 KPa (30 psi) for 2½ minutes.

1.2.6 The fire coating to be non-hydroscopic and

have been tested for over 2000 hours of exposure to alternate UV and condensation cycling, with no adverse

1.2.4 Ống gió chống cháy phải đạt được việc kiểm tra va chạm cho thân ống cứng theo tiêu chuẩn BS EN 1128 năm 1996. Khi kiểm tra áp lực của 52.46J, mẫu test không cần qua tường, không bong dán, không nứt gãy và những lỗi khác tại điểm va chạm. Kết quả kiểm định phải được trình duyệt. 1.2.5 Ống gió phải được kiểm tra bởi ETL intertek trong vòng 2h với ASTM-E119, bao gồm kiểm tra dòng chảy trong ống với áp lực nước là 207Kpa(30 psi) trong vòng 150 phút. 1.2.6 Lớp phủ chịu lửa không hút ẩm và được kiểm định hơn 2000 giờ với sự biển đổi của UV và vòng tròn ngưng tụ,không bị ảnh hưởng lên bề mặt ống gió được phủ lớp sơn.

effect on the condition of the coated duct. 1.3 Installation 1.3.1 The fire duct support system should be

located at a maximum of 1500mm centres, the size of the hangers and bearers upgraded to account for reduction in tensile strength of steel due to fire. Proof, in the form of test or assessment report to BS476 Part 24 and ISO6944 that suitable size hangers and bearers upgraded to account for the reduction in tensile strength of steel due to fire from 430N/mm2 to 10N/mm2 for 2 hours, shall be submitted.

1.3.2 All gaskets and sealants to be non-combustible and installed as fire tested to BS476 Part 24 and

shall be supplied by the same manufacturer. 1.3.3 The Gasket shall be fire retardant Intumescent. Tape Gasket which is a highly flexible, chemically

inert, non toxic foam tape, designed to seal flange joints and other metal surfaces that require to be sealed together. It shall be self adhesive and easy to peel, will not shrink or degrade in normal use and is unaffected by water or moisture. The Gasket shall be of dimensions 15mm wide x 5mm thick x 15metre rolls for flanges up to 40mm.

1.3.4. The sealant material shall be a one part ready to use Intumescent Fire Retardant Acrylic Sealant. It

shall be non-flammable in liquid state and not classified as hazardous under the CHIP Regulations 1994/Amendments 1997. The intumescent fire retardant sealant has been tested to BS 476 Part 22/1987 (ISO 834) in specified joint configurations.

1.3.5 The fire rated duct shall be connected to

1.3.2 Tất cả roăng và keo phải là không bắt cháy

và được lắp đặt như là đã được kiểm tra chống cháy theo BS476 chương 24 và nên được cung cấp bởi cùng một nhà sản xuất.

1.3.3 Roăng phải là loại phồng lên và làm cháy

chậm. Roăng là loại dẻo, không có chất độc hại, được thiết kế để nối mặt bích và những bề mặt kim loại khác mà được yêu cầu gắn với nhau. De- Greasing of duct - before spraying Flamebar BW11, clean the duct of any grease or dust & hose it with water

sealants are applied correctly (ducts must be properly dried before spraying).

1.Ductwork must be cleaned off oil, grease, dust... Fire

retardant gasket and sealant must be used.

2. Ensure enough space to spray/brush Flamebar coating

to 4 sides of ductwork with minimum thickness 0.7mm.

3. Must stir Flamebar coating well before using If brush

and/or roller are used to install Flamebar coating.

Check the thickness of coating with gauge. Ensure all dry
