ADVANTAGES OF FLAKE ICE

Rapid cooling or mixing – Flake ice flow more than 1740 sq mtrs. Of cooling surface per metric ton.

Better product coverage– Flake ice flow more freely & provide greater contact area.

Greater product protection – Flake ice remain dry, packs well and cushions your product against damage during packing, storage & transportation.

Easily stored & distributed – Flake ice is dry on both sides & does not congeal or form into clumps. It will not freeze up in the bin or clog screw or pneumatic conveyors.

Longer storage life – Flake ice is sub-cooled to provide more than 80K-cal kg, when harvested. Sub-cooling can easily be adjusted in the field to (-) 18°C or lower. Melts slowly than block ice when exposed to atmosphere.

More economical – Flake ice can be manufactured with less energy than any other type of ice 4325 K-cal per hour per metric ton of ice with 16°C with inlet water.

All PRI flake ice generator ‘P’ models operate the same way. Only their physical size and consequent capacities differ. Each PRI flake ice generator is a vertical and double walled cylindrical evaporator. The cylinder remains stationary and central ice flaking rotor is attached with water ring and Drip shield revolve. Water is pumped into the top of the water distributor rotor and then distributed through the water rings onto inner freezing surface. A high velocity, very low temperature refrigerant (i.e. 15°C to (-) 30°C) continued between the cylinders walls freezes the almost water immediately. Then ice is sub cooled in the drying arc and then the tools shear the ice from the freezing surface without touching the wall. The ice falls out the bottom of the Ice-generator into the storage bin. No water is delivered with the ice because the drip shield deflects any excess water into a receiving pan from which it is re-circulated to make more ice. Ice thickness is adjusted by changing the speed of the rotor with variable speed pulley. Ice can be continuously produced without an attendant. In case of power failure, all water drains into the water recirculation tank. There is no danger of ice system freezing up.

ECONOMICAL

Produces more ice than any other ice maker using comparable compressor 4325 K-cal/Hr, per metric tone of ice using 16°C incoming water uses less energy than block ice maker.

Operates simply even while unattended. Continuous production with no defrosting

cycles. Features simplified refrigeration controls

and piping. Reduces refrigeration losses with totally

enclosed, insulated fiberglass enclosure. Converts all water to ice without water loss. Saves space with compact design. Installs easily without factory supervision. Minimum maintenance. Standard equipments with each ice maker.
