This is one of the taps most commonly used for the recovery of the drill rod of corresponding orcomplimentary sizes. Self tapping “V” thread form is case hardened for cutting and gripping action.

When casing is loosely connected, the rotating action of the drill string can cause it to unscrew inthe hole. Use of a casing recovery tap is recommended in such situations. It is designed withminimal taper to assure effective gripping action without distortion of the OD of the casing.
