STEREOSCOPE BINOCULAR MICROSCOPE

Top Illumination for the stereoscope comes from a Dolan Jenner Fiber light split between two outputs and passed through a condensing lens. It is recommended that the side illumination for the video microscope be modified to be the same. 2 come with system.

This video microscope software even allows the screen capture of user selected text on live video as well as the measurement tools.

Calibration

Example of measuring software. Measurement software has four independent horizontal and four independent vertical measurement calipers which can be used to measure features once the visible beam path is calibrated to the laser beam path (or drilling path in the case of a MicroMill).

The above is a verification of the 20X DIN on the video microscope turret.

Verification of field of view using a stage micrometer.

The above picture shows 50 micron holes drilled through polyurethane film without burn or edge degredation. We struggled to go with larger holes than 200 um with the 532nm wavelength. Then we would choose a faster wavelength and shorter pulse duration.

The above is a picture of a 150 micron hole drilled through a silicone tube. The measurement software was used to grab pictures of each and every part in-situ for 100% inspection.

A similar stereoscope placed in-situ on an Excimer laser micromachining system. This scope has the same measurement capability as the stand alone video microscope system from above.the software allows calibration to the laser systems field of view.

NOTE: The above fixture is on another machine as all of our fixtures were interchangeable but it is an example of a stereoscope which was placed in-situ (on the micro machining system itself)..

Above: 300 micron stainless steel filter cloth disks cut using 532nm laser using a flat fixture but there was incredible loss due to transferring 300um discs to travel packaging.

Includes full In-Situ measurement software which runs on the integrated frame grabber. Allows for NIST traceable measurement of parts under inspection without removal from the system as seen above.
