Media Homework Creativity… Where do you see real creativity in the media? I see real creativity in the book business because people are able to write books from scratch and from original ideas and life experiences. I also see creativity in the music business because like with books people make up songs. Give examples of media artefacts that you think are really creative? A media artefact that I think is really creative would be digital film because a couple years back people would use film to record their films and in the editing process they would have to physically cut the film and stick it together in order but now you have digital film and it is really creative in my opinion because whilst filming you can see what you are filming on the camera so you are less prone to make mistakes and it makes the whole process easier whereas before if you made a mistake you would have to reshoot the whole sequence or just leave it as it is. Are they mostly mainstream or alternative? Well some directors argue that digital film ruins the tradition of film making whereas others find it better. I think now as technology is more enhanced it is becoming more mainstream. Is it easier or more difficult to be creative in the media in this day and age? I would argue it is a bit of both for example with films in a way it is harder to be creative because film has been around for a very long time so it is hard to come up with an original idea but on the other hand it is easier because film makers can take other people’s ideas from films that have already been made and make it their own by being creative. Also in it is quite hard to be creative in the film industry because a lot of films do buy the rights to other peoples books and ideas as such, so in my opinion it is easier to be creative in other industries such as books and music. Come up with 3 ideas for your own short film. 1. My first idea for a film would be a spoof of a gangster film.

Media Homework Creativity…

Where do you see real creativity in the media?

2. My second idea would be to do a drama because I found the last film very interesting.3. My third idea can be like an animated film, with stick people or something because I think that

would be interesting to do and quite a weird thing to do.
