WHY DO TEENS JOIN GANGS?
Some are drawn by parties, money, & drugs. Some are looking for a sense of respect and
power. Some want to make money -- to help out at home
or to have nice clothes, or just to brag. Some grow up in a neighborhood where it is
almost a way of life.
88% of all boys and over 76% of girls surveyed said they shot someone in the past 12 months because they
needed money. about 30-40 percent of boys and 15-30 percent of girls reports having committed a serious violent offense by
age 17. having to dowith gang related activity.
A gun in the home is 43 times more likely to be used to kill a family member or friendor to commit suicide
than to defend oneself.
Guns are often used in roberies and drug related crimes.
Give me the money!
I think this would be a interesting documentary because:1. We need to expose this issue to teens that it is time to keep guns out of their hands.2.It shows how the desire to have money will make people have bad decisions
