Activities · Making Knexions An exciting and fun hands on design and build activity for

9 – 14 year olds incorporating scientific and mathematical principles to solve an engineering challenge. Supported by

a full educator pack and short term loan of equipment.

· STEM Challenge Events Where we come to you… STEM Challenge Events are

opportunities for your students to participate in challenging engineering based activities led by our specially trained and experienced field workers. Activities are designed to be interactive, cross curricular and to meet the needs of your school.

NetworkingOpportunities for group leaders and individual students to share ideas and best practice through our web based, secure communication system. The messaging system is fully embedded within our secure members only profile pages which enables the members to communicate as much or as little as is beneficial.

Personal ProfileEvery group membership and individual student membership has an online profile which they can populate with news, items of interest, progress on project work etc. The profile has public and private settings enabling members to control how much they share with the membership network. Members can opt to post newsworthy items to the Young Engineers News Feeds to generate publicity for your activities.

MembershipNew members will join us on the Launch Pad, a specialist start-up programme that enables all members no matter their experience to make the most of their membership. Launch Pad provides a full welcome pack with starter activity kits, an exclusive programme of activities, membership handbook, careers advice and individual incentives.

Competitions · Young Engineer for Britain Awards The prestigious Young Engineers for Britain Awards is a national competition celebrating individual and group engineering projects. This is a chance for individuals and groups to compete for top awards and to showcase their projects and activities from the past year.· Young Engineer for Britain Mentoring Young Engineer for Britain Mentoring Programme is a unique opportunity for school students aged 16 to 19 to be mentored by engineers and scientists from the National Physical Laboratory in London. Improve and develop an engineering based project, compete for the Young Engineer for Britain Awards and win a place at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

· Project Eggs Factor To go boldly…where no egg has gone before… Captain Egg and Lts Ouef and McDouef are ready to take part in their newest and most exciting mission yet. This is an eggciting challenge for 7 – 16 year olds which will focus students on designing, building and solving a set of engineering based challenges.· Krazy Racers Do you have the imagination to create a unique and cool energy efficient

passenger vehicle? This fun filled and wacky STEM project helps 9 -18 year old students understand how design affects speed and efficiency.

Terms and Conditions of Young Engineers Membership1. Membership will last for 13 months from the date of registration.2. All Young Engineer’s documentation, activities and support materials are subject to the following restrictions;

a. Young Engineers does not permit any of its documents or intellectual property to be transferred, borrowed or copied.b. Documents may be printed or photocopied solely for the use or benefit of registered Young Engineers Members.c. All documentation remains the intellectual property of Young Engineers and is copyright protected.d. Copying the content for the benefit of any individual or group who is not a current Young Engineers Member is strictly prohibited.

3. As part of your Young Engineers Membership you agree that:a. Every student registered will be engaged with at least one Young Engineers Activity throughout the year.b. You will complete and return feedback from at least 10% of your members if/when requested.c. You will be active within your online profile area and upload at least one piece of news a year.d. It is the responsibility of the main adult contact to ensure all adults engaging with our members have the relevant DBS checks.e. It is the responsibility of the main adult contact to ensure the due care and protection of students within the membership.f. All schools must ensure that the main adult contact is employed by the school.

4. Young Engineers reserves the rights to the following media release protocols:a. Young Engineers may request schools involved to provide photographs or video footage of the activities in order for Young Engineers

to celebrate and report the event in their marketing materials or website.b. Young Engineers may report the names of students and teachers in their publicity materials.c. Young Engineers reserves the right to use any quotes, photos or statements of the students and teachers participating in any Young

Engineers activity in their current of future publicity materials etc. and may grant the use of the material to their supporter organisations.d. Young Engineers reserves the right to use or pass on the information mentioned for publication in relevant and associated journals,

websites and other suitable media linked to their business.e. A PR representative on behalf of Young Engineers may wish to interview teachers and students involved in Young Engineers Membership.f. Young Engineers assume all photo, video or media related information supplied to us is owned by the respective organisation, student

or party and thus does not breach any current copyright laws.
