The History

The Local Area Study began as a one off competition

sponsored by the Friends of the Barossa Library over ten

The success of the competition led to it becoming and integral

part of the Year 9 History course and now H and E.

The Focus

in your assignment.

The Written Statement

All students, regardless of whether they do a model or written assignment must complete a written statement.

The written statement should be a minimum of 300 words and should outline (1) What you chose to research and why. (2) The process you went through.

(3) What you learnt.

Sources Analysis

Just as you did with the Historical Fiction piece, you will be required to identify sources for your LAS.

You will complete an analysis of 5 sources using the template provided.

You can of course use more than 5 sources, just analyse 5!

Page 9: Year 9 local area study

The sources analysis will be submitted with your final task and will make up part

of your grade.
