We really don’t care about the appearance of our old shoes and shirts, our smelly pictures and rotten gadgets because we consider what is in each item-its intrinsic value. They give us happiness, a sense of comfort while appreciating the fact that each thing hold memories, and thus it has value to us.

AestheticsWe keep things because we want them to be always part of ours. We see it to be beautiful when we know that our items are there in our reach. To some people, it is some kind of pigsty thing, but the way we judge it, it has a distinct beauty that we love to mingle with it. In this case, we have the so-called separation issues because we have already established closeness or oneness to these things

IdealismKeeping things is based on the idea that if we put these things, we will never be able to get back the memories that is contained in them. We are blinded on the idea that these things are really important, and the idea of importance is to keep those things

Capitalism(Monetary Value)We keep these because we think of the money or how much we actually paid for it. We don’t want to lose them because we think that we are lost if we sell it at a lower price, or we may value it because we know that the market values it, and thus we must also value it.
