Emotional intelligence/quotient EI/EQ is a capacity
every individual need to possess for handling
different situations in their life. You may be a student,
teacher, parent or a working professional, it is
important for you to develop EI to identify & manage
your emotions and others emotions.
This will help you to manage stress levels, improve
social relationships & performance and bring
happiness to you. It is important in personal and
professional perceptions and interactions.
If you do not develop emotional intelligence, it will
affect your physical & mental health, performance
and social relationships.
What EI exactly means?
Emotional intelligence is the ability of a person to
understand and manage one ’ s own emotions &
others emotions in a productive and healthy way.

If you want to develop emotional intelligence, you
need incorporate these six pillars in your life such as
self-awareness, empathy, self-regulation, motivation,
social skills and happiness.
You need to analyze your emotions and practice how
to manage your emotions & behave in a better way.
While you express your thoughts or feelings be
careful first connect both and respond accordingly.
Observe the emotions of other people and how they
respond to a particular situation then practice the
way to handle emotions. Observe, learn and practice
more about emotions as this can’t be developed in a
single day.

An emotional intelligent person will listen, accept,
forgive, take personal responsibility, seek other
points of view, understand, accept, and able to
explain your emotional reactions, stay calm under
pressure, use emotions appropriately to both inspire
and make others feel comfortable, admit and learn
from mistake, take feedback with ease and match
words with body language.
